1987 Saab 900 Turbo (bought it used, paid more in repairs over the 3 years I owned it. My engine finally blew a while I was driving to my ex's parents place right off of 290 near 1960.)

1991 Chevy S-10 (Loved it. I put some 60K miles on it, only had to do the basic service and I had to replace the alternator once. I sold it to my younger 16 year old brother for $300, as I was looking for a new truck which I got below)

2003 Dodge 4.7L 1500 Quad Cab (Not a problem so far, but much remains to be seen. I have about 40K miles on it so far though, and plan on keeping it for a while. We'll see.)

1989-1991: 1983 Dodge Ramcharger(two-tone-brown)- I bought it right after I started college. It had been abused so it ate my lunchmoney for repairs but saved my life several times over. Was my first stereo vehicle also. I drove it like I stole it. Great vehicle. Only got rid of it after some drugged up idiot hit me on 410E by Ingram Park Mall. He went from 60-0 really fast when his little coche hit my rear end. His car was totaled, my truck needed some rear hatch repair and fresh paint.

1991-1999:1990 Ford Tempo(Maroon)-first car I financed. An utter POS when it came to front ends. I replaced 2 and it needed a third (at around $1100 a pop) when I let it sit on UTSA's campus from 1996-1999.Finally surrendered it, paid off the very little I still owed on it.

1995-1999:1977 Impala(Gold)-had a big, bored-out 350 with all sorts of mods, etc. Had a 2" lift, but with all the subs, etc in it it sat about 3" off the ground. :-) Good car, was stolen and stripped April of 1996. Let it sit in Aunt's backyard garage until 1999 when I traded in on the next car.

1996-1999:1979 Olds Delta 88 Royale(White)-Dad's car, had started taking care of him, so I used his while I was carless. Solid car, little problems. Also traded this in on next car.

1999-2002:1997 Ford Taurus(White)-Decent car, solidly built from a safety standpoint. Took a full-size Chevy p/u hitting me in the side and only one small dent. Finally got rid of it due to tranny failing. Traded in on my truck.

2002-2004:2002 Ford F-150 Sport Supercab(Red)-awesome truck. No problems at all.

2004-Feb 10,2007:2004 Mustang GT Convertible (Sonic Blue)- AWESOME car. Superfast and superfun to drive. I have only been beaten by a Vette, and it wasn't walking away.

2006-Feb 10,2007:1994 Ford Explorer XLT 4x4(White)-had to buy this when I moved to Iowa in the middle of winter. Mustang doesn't see snow!

'94 Chevy S-10 4x4 (1995) - Nice truck for a high school kid, but wanted something I could work on.

'64 Chevy Stepside (1996)- Primer gray. Yanked the inline 6, and replaced it with a 400 Pontiac. Replaced that with a 454, Muncie M-21 (4-speed), and 4.11 posi. Would outrun Z-28s and Mustang Cobras.

'66 Chevelle (1998)- Stole the motor out of the pickup and drove it to A&M for a couple of years. Added aluminum heads, Edelbrock EFI, Borg-Warner T-56, & 9" Ford w/ 4.11 Detroit Locker. Nice enough looking, but my dad and I painted it ourselves. We'll do better next time though. I have a 12 second quarter mile time slip with this car.

'99 Chevy Z-71 (1999)- Great truck! Hope to give this to my son one day.

1. April 1 1998 - Summer of 2004 - 1985 Chevy S-10: nice red paint, 2.8 v6, no a/c and vinyl seats. That truck made you sweat your a$$ off in the summer. Very easy to remember the exact day i got it. then Mom got a new car so I got to trade up to...

2.Summer '04 - May '05: 1996 Toyota Camry 4 banger. then when i graduated i got...

3. May '05 - Feb '07: 2005 Nissan Titan. big v8, loved that truck. but then we got a house and i traded down to...

I see I didn't post in this one, here it goes:

Emerald green 1997 Chevy S-10 sportside 2.2L 5spd, was given to me by my dad and drove this little p/u through high school and 3 yrs at A&M. Had issues with the u-joints, grenaded an ac compressor, went through 1 clutch, it was SLLLOOOWWW, but got over 30 mpg and was a great first vehicle!

Traded it in on a white 2003 F150 4x4 SWB STX V6 5spd, AWESOME truck, drove through my remaining time at A&M and 2 years after I graduated...no issues whatsoever with that truck and was very handy off road for a V6...loved it.

Traded the STX with my dad for a maroon 1999 F250 Lariat crewcab with a V10 we found with 28k miles from the original owner (former Ag that had recently passed away), intended to use this truck as my tow vehicle for my rock-crawler project that never got off the ground (don't ask) drove it for about 4 years...no major issues...just burned A LOT OF GAS. Also loved that truck...still do...sold it to 1ag for my down-payment on...

Platinum silver 2005 Cadillac CTS-V LS6...one owner (was a 65 yo lady who traded it for an '09 V) car that I absolutely adore, saw one about a year ago and started researching them and got hooked...drove Flaith's and 1 week later I had my own

1994 S-10 ext cab pu - 5 spd stick. 4 banger was a peppy little truck. unfortunately i hydroplaned it on the way to school one day in the middle of I-10 when they were rebuilding it. there was a ton of mud on that road. sold it to some mexican wanting to use it to run a paint crew for like $1k. it probably needed close to 2K worth of repairs. i probably had ~110k miles on it 15 of which where mine

1987 S-10 Blazer - this was a loud slow v6. had a nice little stereo system. took it in to get a new radiator b/c the old one wouldn't flush after sitting for four years, went and picked it up and drove out of the parking lot and heard clank clank clank. turned around went back into the shop and the guy was like "oh yeah i forgot to tell you you have an oil pressure problem" last time i ever take a car to golbow's. had this for maybe less than 5 months

1999 durango - 5.2L - dad found it on a close out special for maybe $3200. had 180k on it. drove it my freshman year at A&M. put another 20k on it. sold it with the odometer reading 199826 for $3900. found out later the guy we sold it to never registered it and it ended up in the travis county impound lot.

2003 durango - 4.7L - was my dad's he bought new in Nov of 03. He wanted something with better gas mileage. we worked out a deal. Drove it for the last 3.5 years. great beast, had a few little problems that were covered under warranty. recently sold it to my BIL.

2009 Sierra - 4.8L - my first brand new truck. I have had it for 2 months. still need to do a few things to it, but i love it thus far.

1998 Chevy Tahoe Sport: I put so much love/care/money into this truck it was unreal. Absolutely beautiful black on black on black, got looks everywhere it went.

2003 Nissan 350Z Track: First model of the new Z. Grew up with 2+2's so the nostalgia got me. Lots of mods/track days and it still runs like a top as my primary daily driver. Looking to get 1 more year out of it before trading up to a 06/7 M5.

1978 Volkswagen Bus Type II: Bought for a steal from a friend's stepfather to turn into a tailgate machine. Actually picking it up on Monday to tow home to Houston. Going to be a huge project/money pit but man an Aggie 12th Van!?! Can't be beaten by any gigantor RV for nostalgia/eclectic persona.

1. - 1966 Mustang - Red w/ black vinyl inside. Had the inline 6 with a 3-spd on the floor. My dad bought this when I was in 4th grade as a bit of a project/fun car. He pulled the engine a couple of days after he bought it and it didn't run again until my brother got his license 5 years later.

2. - 1991 Isuzu pickup - Black w/ silver interior. Got it new after six months with the mustang, Dad got tired of the frequent repairs. This truck was basically four wheels and a heater when I got it, but I slowly added AC, stereo and wheels to make it into a respectable truck.

3. - 1990 Dodge Daytona ES - red w/ silver interior, had the 3.0 V6 and a 5 spd. I absolutely loved this car, bought it in 1993 after a run of bad luck with the Isuzu had me convinced it was cursed. I put about 140,000 miles on this sucker over the next seven years. The odometer broke at 145,380 but I drove it for three more years after that so I'm estimating it was pushing 200K when I got rid of it. It was just tired towards the end there.

4. - 1989 Pontiac Grand Prix - grey/grey, my dad gave me this car when he was in asset liquidation mode. I had it concurrently with the Daytona for a couple of years but didn't really drive it much. My wife started driving it right before we got married, but was in a pretty nasty wreck (not her fault) that pretty much did it in. I was only carrying liability on it and the other guy was uninsured and consequently skipped town. The cops said he may have been undocumented. I ended of selling the car to a salvage yard for next to nothing.

5. - 1985 Chevy Celebrity Eurosport (seems like I am going backwards huh?) was my grandfather's old car and I started driving it when he couldn't anymore and the Daytona was starting to wear out. It had only 54,000 miles on it in 1999, the exterior was immaculate as it was garage kept and washed every saturday need it or not. The interior was an entirely different story as Pappy chain smoked menthols with the windows up. I scrubbed it down, got seat covers to cover up all the burns and drove it for a couple of years.

6. - 2001 Dodge Ram 1500, regular cab, V6, 5spd. after driving the Euroaport for a couple of years, it started needing the attention that a 16 year old car typically needs and it really wasn't something I wanted to sink money into so I bought The Dodge. I got rear-ended in this truck during the month of April on three consecutive years, one was pretty bad and it was in the shop for two months since they couldn't get it quite right, finally ended up having to take it away from Progressive and take it to a frame specialist. I liked the truck, but it really wasn't practical for hauling around a wife and two rugrats, so after around 135,000 miles (and the prospect of having a 100-miles round trip to work with rising gas costs) it went away.

7. - 2007 Toyota Camry LE, black/silver

Pretty much a boring car, looks nice, gets great gas mileage, but it was the right fit when I was looking to buy. Don't know how long I'll keep driving this one, could be another year, could be ten more, who knows?

1967 Mustang - Bought out of a cow pasture for bail money when I was 15. Did a frame up resto. on it with my dad as money was available. HP 289, 4 speed top loader, pony interior. Dad made me sell it my freshman year at A&M. I'll never forgive him.

1980 Z28 - Car my dad strongly suggested I buy to replace it. Huge POS even after mostly restoring it.

1979 TA 6.6 - Only had this a year before giving it to my brother. Think a pimp owned it before me because it had a sheep skin interior..

1989 Firebird Formula - Only F-body I actually liked, probably because I was the only one to put my stamp on it lol. Drove the hell out of it for 16 years sans mullet. Scarey huh!

1996 S-10 ZR2 - Absolutely loved this truck.

2002 Jeep Liberty - Don't know what I was thinking...better half at the time said four doors or else, should have listened to the devil on my shoulder instead.

2007 Wrangler - What can I say, I really like this one and think I'll keep it. Lots of fun to drive on and off road with the added benefit of people getting out of my way in traffic.

1986 Ford Escort Wagon with an inline 4 and manual transmission. Car was actually kind of fun. If you didn't learn to drive on a stick, you missed one of life's great experiences. A whopping 88hp on this bad boy. Seafoam grey. Didn't really own it, but parents let me drive it.

1983 Chevy S-10 Blazer 4x4 with the little 2.8L V6, a whopping 132Hp. 4HI and 4LOW which I abused regularly, though it saved my butt driving on ice my junior year at A&M. Knocked a raised concrete manhold cover clean off the manhole shaft with this truck. Long story. Lasted me through senior year in HS and all of college. Loved this little truck.

1999 Mercury Mountaineer 4 door 2WD Ford Explorer copy. I really liked this truck too, with the 4.0L V6. It was fast enough for me at the time and 210hp was adequate. It could handle moderate trails with the lim-slip diff, and did what I asked of it. Was traded in in 2004 for suburban to be listed below.

2000 Chevy Silverado 2500 Ex cab long bed 2WD 6L Gas engine. Big truck I wasn't so enthused about at the time, but the wife really wanted. I've been glad I bought it ever since. 200,000 miles, and my daily driver. Replaced the wife's college Ford F150 beater.

2004 Chevy Suburban I really like the burban. Great ride, low maintenance, powerful and fast for such a large vehicle, and decent mileage. Wife uses it as a dog transport when she shows our collies or takes them to competition. The mountaineer was a trade in for the burban. 160,000 miles and still running strong.

Brad,

You are correct sir! Kids will do that to you--all the cars we have purchased in the past 3 years were for (or because of) our teenagers.

Hopefully one day they will graduate college and become contributing members of society and we can afford cars that we 'want'!

Aunt gave it to my dad for my brother to drive. He was using my mom's car, so I got it. Most expensive free car I've ever seen. Got my license and drove it for two weeks before

91 Geo Metro
This thing was a monster!! I'd regularly smoke anything that dared with it's whopping 1.0L, 3 cylinder engine. Got it used with about 13K in April 92. Sold it to my sisinlaw in March 97 with about 77K. She had it until somewhere about 105K. Still don't think Geos were intended to last that long. That thing hauled me and several friends from El Paso to College Station more times than I can count. I even managed to get a speeding ticket in it. On a highway. Twice.

97 Chevy "Apache" aka a rebadged Cheyenne with the Texas package or whatever they called it. Had everything you could get before stepping up to the Silverado. Bought new, traded in at 75K

01 Dodge Ram QC 4x4 Sport
9 years, 142K later, I can't see getting rid of it, especially since I just replaced the stupid cracked dashboard.

1984 VW Scirocco -- Fun car, should never have sold it.

1967 VW Bug -- Was uuuugly, but had a 1776 with dual 40 Dellortos, so it was pretty quick (or at least I thought so)

1966 VW Bug -- Still have it, waiting to be put back together. Build a 2110cc motor for it with all the good stuff, nice Berg heads, etc... very, very quick. Had it media blasted down to the metal and restored/painted years ago and haven't had space to put it together again. Soon.

1988 VW Jetta GLI -- Bought it for $1000, it needed plugs. Amazingly fun car to drive. Gave it to a friend with 225K or so on it, should have kept it as a track car...

1998 VW Wolsburg Edition -- Nice car, no problems. Not very interesting, but a solid car. 2.slow!

2003 VW Jetta GLI -- My current and most favorite car. VR6 motors are awesome. I keep thinking about a Porsche, Lotus, or something sportier, and I know they'd be fun, but... I dunno, I love this car.

2008 VW Rabbit -- Wife's car. Amazingly nice car for under $20K.

Doh, you caught me. I got so excited about the VWs I forgot about the one other car I own right now:

1997 Toyota Tacoma SR5 -- This is for hunting and fishing and such. It is a 4x4 with the 34.L and TRD supercharger on it. I do want to point out that VW licensed these trucks and sold them badged as VWs in Germany...
