97 Civic when I turned 16 (in 2002).
04 Civic, new, the week I left for college.
Put a couple hundred thousand on it, lost 5th gear and commuted to work in 4th at 4200rpm 700 miles a week for 18 months.
Transmission finally exploded so I got a new Mazda 6 last July.

Love the 6, should have dumped the civic many years earlier.

Bro

And this song was on the radio, May 1997.

High beam only. Drove it from Meridian to Big Spring sometime after midnight. Pulled over in Hico to get a hotel room and there was a family reunion and no place to stay. I said 'screw it' and just kept on driving.

That pickup had been dimpled in a hail storm in Stanton, and then mauled by a bump gate in Sonora. It was blowing a little smoke by 160,000 miles. The deer just finished it off. We had the front end replaced and sent it to the auction in El Paso. I think that it still brought $3500.

Not including the cars I've bought for my wife.

1. 1962 Chevy C10 with a 350 V8. It was a project truck and eventually got it running, but still needed more money than I had as a kid. Sold it off to buy...

2. 1965 Ford F100, two tone paint job. Had a 390 dropped in and the column shifter was converted to the floor. Drove it for years but needed something more reliable before college.

3. 1997 Jeep TJ sport 4.0L. Black on Black (I may have started the black rim thing ahead of its time). Lifted, mud terrains, rhino lined inside, sweet ride. Still to this day curse myself for getting rid of it.

4. 1994 F150 extended bab with the 5.8 windsor. Beautiful two tone truck and the exterior and upholstery was in perfect condition. Loved that truck. Sold it off when the transmission started going out.

5. 2003 Nissan frontier crew cab with the longer bed. Fun truck that was pretty much given to me.

6. 2012 Toyota Tundra. My first brand new purchase. Great truck, should have kept it (recurring theme).

7. 2014 F150 5.0L V8. It's had its share of problems, but its running well now and new truck prices are hurting my heart. I'll probably keep it for another couple years.

Next vehicle will be a 3/4 ton.

1977 Ford Mustang - 302 4 speed - fun car but cost me a lot in gas and insurance. Was constantly repairing it, especially when it kept overheating.

1993 Toyota Pickup - 4 cylinder 5 speed- dependable and great. Sold it too early at 130k miles

2001 Toyota Tacoma - 6 cylinder 5 speed 4x4 - loved this truck but wasn't family friendly. Most stupid decision was getting rid of it as my son would probably love this in a few years. Biggest regret getting rid of it.

2003 Honda Accord - v6 automatic - great acceleration and nice car, but it was accident prone. Happy to get rid of it. The v6 was just not as reliable as the 4 cylinder,

2011 Tahoe - great travel vehicle and it feels sturdy and safe. Very pleased with it and overall it's been a very reliable vehicle. I don't feel like I get upsold on additional service - just do routine maintenance and the bare minimum. Has 80k today and I'm thinking of keeping long term. Great family vehicle.

2017 Honda Accord - 4 cylinder sport - looks nice and decent acceleration. It's no frills. Only got it because the 2003 died and needed something (had a friend at dealership). It's ok but if it went away I wouldn't care. Someone hit it within 3 months of buying so I was happy I didn't spend a lot. I guess the Honda accident prone carries on.

Dream Car - 68 Dodge Charger or an old pickup truck. I'll eventually get one as a "play" car, but not until I have the garage space for it.

1999 Ford Explorer Sport (2 Door)
- this one bounced around for a while between myself and my sisters. By the time I got it the second time around, only the drivers door worked and no power anything except steering. Drove it for the better part of 2 years while in school.
2006 Dodge Charger
- drove it like I stole it everywhere I went. Best memory was racing it up and down HWY 47 between 60 and 21 and pissing off a 3 series numerous times.
2004 Chevy Avalanche (current)
- Love this one. No issues and probably won't be getting rid of it soon as has been relagated to weekend/grocery duty. Perks of a company vehicle to take all the brunt of my abuse.
