1996 Ford Explorer 5.0L - My parents bought me this car when I turned 16 and I thought it was fast, I abused the **** out of that thing.

1998 Mustang GT - Got this my senior year of HS, I thought it was fast too and I guess it kinda was. I did heads/cams and all the bolt ons and had it running low 13's by the time I sold it to my little brother.

1999 Camaro SS - The 1st car I ever bought myself, it had 385rwhp when I bought it and it currently has over 550rwhp, the 6-speed saves gas on the freeway but in the city it can be ridiculous, but well worth it...

Temple Ag, oh..what a coincidence..

'03 Chevy Tahoe ('03) - Top of the line. Could not believe I payed $29K for a $42k sticker. Now I know. Hands down the biggest POS I have ever owned. All the bling is falling apart. The radio, AC, and electric seats are currently broken. I still have a year and a half of payments left on it. I should have bought the Sequoia.

Yup...Tahoe is the biggest POS I've ever owned. I had Radio, AC, and electric seat break. I didn't bother fixing the radio...used to eat up my CD and a speaker blew. AC compressor went out under warranty. Little gear broke in my power seat which chevy couldn't replace..so I had to get a whole new chair.. out of warranty. There is more...but why bother. I did send Chevy an email and told them I would never buy another GM product. They thanked me for my email.

1983 Nissan/Datsun 280ZX (1992) Paid $1400 for the car when 15, drove it till it sucked water through the air intake at Langford and blew a piston at 325,000 miles. Man, I really abused that car. Sold the body to an enthusiast for $400 last year.

1995 Acura Integra (2000) lost the timing belt at 175,000 miles and trashed the engine. It was a fun car to toss around.

2000 Mazda Miata (2001) Bought the car to autocross, moved to London and gave it to my brother, who in turn gave it to my little sister a couple of years later. It's still running strong.

2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 H.O. (2005) It's a fun truck, I really love driving it, but the piddly things keep breaking. It's running strong at 97,000 miles.

4/21/1988 - 1993 1975 Chevy K-5 Blazer - Bought it for $2700 my Senior Year in HS. Drove it for 5 years though A&M. Sold it to my PMC E-1 Jock cousin for $1500. He turned it into the ultimate deer lease vehicle. Strong 350 V-8 4 bbl Holley, that truck ran great and one thing or another broke regularly.

10/31/1992 - 1997 1993 Ford Probe GT - 1st car bought new for $18,000. Drove it for 4 years and sold it to my brother. It pretty much came apart around 90,000 - 100,000 miles. Quick, but not Fast. Fun to drive.

1997 - 1999 1985 Jeep CJ-7 - Fun to drive. Complete POS. Guys in my National Guard unit loved it. Bought it from a UT student for $4000. Spent $4500 on it over the next 18 months replacing all kinds of stuff including the engine. Sold it to a UT student for $4500. Money Pit.

2/11/1999 - Present 1999 Ford Expedition 4x4 XLT - 1st car I ever ordered. Aggie Maroon of course. Paid about $36,000 after adding in the extended warranty. What's cool about this truck is that everything on it is there because that's what I picked out. Great for towing trailers, or taking a big crew skiing.

12/30/2005 - Present 2002 BMW M3 - Laguna Seca Blue w/GPS Navigation. Bought it over the internet for $34,000. The taxes on this car were more than my '75 K-5 Blazer. I guess that probably true for my '99 Expy, too. I love this car and will probably never get rid of it.

1/12/2007 - Present 1977 VW Bus Transporter - Just got it. Paid $2950 for it and can't wait to enjoy it.

The 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 with 228,000 miles, was omitted because it belongs to my wife.

1991 Pontiac Grand Am - Got the car when I was 15, and drove it until October, 2003. My dad gave it to my cousin for her 16th birthday

1994 Chevrolet Corvette - Dad bought this to replace "Grandie" as an early graduation present.

1998 Nissan Frontier - Bought this after I graduated for a daily beater and to keep miles off my Vette and for fuel mileage.

The same gear broke in my mother's Buick. Quoted $1,600 for the part at the desk because you can't just replace the gear or the motor... the whole seat bottom assembly is the only part you can get. I got lucky and found the thing at a boneyard for $75.

A lot of the plastic trim in her car has issues, and I wonder if the hard plastic in my father's suburban will too before long.

1995 jeep wrangler - first car. poured a bunch of money in it lifting it and doing some engine work. kept it until around 2003.

2001 mercury mountaineer - hated this car but was tired of all the hassles involved in owning a jeep. so i had both for a couple of years, which was kind of cool.

2001 ford mustang cobra - traded both of the above in for this.

2002 corvette z06 - best car ever made. ever.

I reposted my car list with updated comments:

Datsun 1200 - Dad bought for me, really cheap, crude little car

Mercury Montego - nice at the time but typical of that generation, dad put vinyl seat covers on it.

Olds Vista Cruiser - fun on dates

Datsun 610 - soft, reliable, uphostery was fragile in Texas sun

1974 Mazda RX4 - bought for $2000, rotary engine, fast, primitive suspension, died at 80k, drove while at A&M

1981 Mazda RX7 - first purchase after graduating from A&M, loved this car, kept for 120k miles

1983 Mazda 626 (girlfriend's car) - solid, we didn't take good care of this car but it was very solid. Aftermarket sunroof (bad idea).

1990 Ford Explorer - good at first, but warped rotors, major AC repair, crappy suspension, sold then blew up for the new buyer

1994 Mercury Villager - Nissan drivetrain, held up well, but it was a minivan

1991 Mazda Miata (wife's) - excellent, we still have it (120K miles), best gearbox I've ever used

1995 Mazda Millenia S - bought with 5500 miles on it, great supercharged engine and reliability, 16 yr. old son wrecked it

2000 Jaguar S-type 4.0 - bough with 4000 miles on it, surprisingly solid, great to drive, sold at 127K

2000 Ford F250 V10 SD (wife's) - excellent reliability although I hated driving it (rough ride) except when towing, sold at 120K, probably had the least maintenance over its life of any vehicle I've owned to this point. My wife really liked it except for 12 MPG.

2006 Honda Pilot EX-L 2WD (wife's) - excellent so far, zero problems over 28k miles so far

2006 Honda Ridgeline (mine) - I call this an anti-truck, excellent so far, zero problems over 27k miles so far

2004 Honda Element (son's car) - bought on ebay with 14K miles on it, solid so far, replaced the Millenia, great teenager's car

1997 Acura NSX-T - just bought it with 23K miles on it. I've wanted one since they were introduced in 1991, finest piece of automotive engineering I've ever owned

Spicewood, my favorite of all the cars was the '74 Capri. I called it my baby mercedes. That 2.8 litre V6 was a piece of work. The speedo went up to 140 mph and I pushed it close one time from SA to CS when a 78 Trans Am thought he could leave me. I stayed on his tail the whole time.

Also, I would kill to have the 2+2 back. It was red with black interior and had the factory 289 with 4bl carb, four speed with discs all around. Great car but had to give it up when finances got tight.

The Dart was a great vehichle and could not be killed. The only problem was the distributor on the slant 6 was in a bad place and would drown out in high water.

Oh those days were fun days!!!

My roommate at A&M had a Capri like yours. V6 and 4 speed (?). I loved that car. The engine was very torquey and moved well. He called it a Crappy for some reason because he really wanted a Blazer. He transfered to tu and became a lawyer. Enough said!

Mine was Silver w/ black interior and had the rear panel painted flat black. The woodgrain on the dash reminded me of the woodwork on Audi and BMWs of that vintage.

I remember one time I was going to a reserve meeting in Bryan from SA and the engine started running rough on me. I was in the motor pool and pulled a jeep fuel filter off the shelf and changed it out (I replaced the filter so don't think I ripped off the US Govt). You'd think that being made in Germany with a Bosch igition and all you'd have problems getting a fuel filter but it was the standard Ford filter used on the M151A1 Jeep.

1960 Chevrolet Parkwood station wagon that I got real cheap when I got my license. It was ok to go to school in but wouldn't have wanted to drive it out of town

1955 Chevrolet 2-door hardtop with a 355 and 4 speed. Nice car but was stolen 2 months after I bought it. BTW it was never recovered

1966 Buick Le Sabre that I drove to A&M. It was a clunker and burned plenty of oil but made it almost all the way through college before the engine let go

1972 Buick Electra 225. Bought it from the next door neighbor. What a tank but had a great ride. Finished A&M with it and drove it until someone pulled out in front of me and it was totaled out.

1982 GMC K2500 4X4. The first new vehicle I ever owned. Had the sluggish 6.2 liter diesel in it and would barely pull a trailer. The engine cratered at 136K miles and sold it as is.

1979 Olds Cutlass. That was my wife's car when we got married. Now that was a good car. Sold it to get her a new one in 1987.

1987 Toyata Celica GT that replaced the Cutlass. It wasn't a bad car but began burning oil prematurely.

1994 GMC K1500 4X4 with a 6.5 liter diesel. They only put the diesel in a half ton pickup for a few years. Has 156K miles on it with only minor maintenance. Pull a 28 foot enclosed trailer with it but really need one with a little more power and stability.

1995 Pontiac Bonneville that replaced the Celica. My daughter drives it today.

2005 GMC Yukon. This replaced my wife's Bonneville and has been a great vehicle so far. 32K miles on it with no maintenance.

1976 Chevrolet Vega. Not an ordinary Vega but one that has a 461 cu. in big block Chevrolet engine and 2 speed Powerglide. 9 inch Ford rearend, Pinto rack and pinion steering, 2X3 frame, 12 point roll cage and, needless to say isn't street legal. Ran 9.36 seconds at 143 MPH just before Christmas at Red River Raceway in Gilliam, LA. Best time to date is 9.06 @ 146.96 MPH.

The Vega once was given an informal award by some auto magazine of "The car most likely to be found disabled on the side of the road." The previous holder of the award was apparently the Fiat X/19. Interesting car you have....

1992 Escort GT - first car & lasted until I graduated college.

2000 Maxima - great car. lasted 5.5 years and would have gone much longer had I not tried to do my own M&R and messed up the engine.

2002 Monte Carlo (used) - impulse buy after I messed up my Nissan. Would have kept it had it not gotten 2 Great Danes.

2005 Xterra - great car. little rough riding but should last a long time, or until kids force me to outgrow it.

00 Honda Accord - current car, I think it may last forever for better or worse. Boring but dependable.

1988 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z - first car (used), dad helped me buy it. Lots of fun.

1991 Plymouth Lazer (Wife) - her first car (new) she saved up her money in HS and College to get it.

1987 IMS Citation FF2000 - my race car. I really, really miss it.

1994 Honda Accord EX - used - kid on the way and the Daytona and Lazer weren't big enough (sold the Daytona b/c it was older)

2000 Honda Odyssey LX (wife) 2-kids, another on the way so we needed a bigger car. 1st NEW car for me. Sold the Lazer.

1977 Ferrari 308 GTB - missed the race car and needed something to drive/work on so I bought this in 2003.

1986 - Ford Thunderbird First car... had over 180,000 miles on it when I got it and had no A/C. Made it through two summers in Dallas.

1999 - Ford Explorer Sport Went in half and half with the folks before A&M. Worked great through school and got me out to California. Never had a problem.

2004 - Mazda RX-8 Great car... I often wonder why I didn't keep it. The rotary engine was a blast, but two days a week in traffic to downtown LA and back was a pain with a low torque manual transmission car.

2006 - VW GTI Current car... It's a great car with probably the best interior of any car I've ever owned. It's about a quick as the RX-8 but I do miss the RWD.

1979 AMC Spirit: Looked like a Pinto with a lift kit, ran it into the ground with the help of my sisters. Became a master of the push start/clutch pop in this car. [We had to pay someone to come haul it away after three teenagers had (ab)used it over the course of 8 or 9 years.]

1968 Pontiac Firebird Convertible: Got this a week before my 17th birthday, and still have it. I'll ALWAYS have it. Enough said.

1983 Ford Bronco (full size): Acquired from my dad since the 'bird was too expensive to drive when I was broke after college. Great truck, although it's on about its third engine (and second rear axle) as we speak. Got that sucker stuck in some fun places. Currently sitting dormant at parents' house, waiting for some love.

1995 Dodge 1500 Laramie SLT: First vehicle I ever bought new. Short bed + small V8 + 5-speed stick = good, clean fun. Great truck -- drove it for seven years until the fuel pump died. Traded it in on my current ride ...

2002 F150 SuperCrew Lariat: Even better truck. Nearly 113,000 miles with nary a problem. I hope to put another 100K on it before looking for another truck to replace it.

1980 Olds Cutty Diesel - POS

1989 Mustang GT 5.0 - great car, but bad color

1990 Mustang GT 5.0 - had this car about 6 years. It got stolen when it had about 130k on the clock. Never a day in the shop. Fantastic car.

1990 Mustang GT Convertible - kept this one about 2 years. It was fine, but I needed something else at this point

1995 BMW 3 series - 92k miles on it and my sister who was borrowing it totalled it. This car was absolutley perfect. Never a day in the shop and no maintenance costs

1998 Ford Expedition - Another great Ford. It just got old and we began spending money on it so we got rid of it

1997 BMW 540 - great rig. Ran like a bat out of hell on the freeway.

2004 BMW 330 - we loved this car too, but it was a short timer for us. Wife wanted something bigger.

2005 Tahoe - wife got something bigger then hated that it didn't drive like her BMW 330. We had this car less than a year

2004 Porsche 911 - still have it and is my daily driver.

2006 BMW X5 4.4 - the wife got something bigger than a 3 series, but drives like a car. She is happy with it.

69 Ford Truck drove from 87 - 92. When I retired it to my ex brother in law it had 275K on it.

97 Jeep Wrangler - wife bought it for me for my BDay. Still ranks as the best birthday every.
97 Honda Accord - wife announces she is pregnant and my Jeep must go(after 2 years). I wept. Bought this POS from AutoNation and pretty sure they screwed me on this car. Kept it and repairs for 3 years
2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee - had it for 6 months and sold as we got transferred to Australia
00 Rav4 in Australia. Not a bad for a go cart. Sold in 02 as we left.
1999 Ford Expedition just sold with 114K and electrical problems.
2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4 Door - I have had this for 1.5 weeks and I love it. I guess it's a jeep thing

79 Chevy station wagon.
87 Toyota Camry from her Mom. Drove by the people we sold it to 3 years ago and still had it. When we sold it had 160K on it. Great little car.

1984 Chevy S-10 Blazer (5/99-7/00) My first vehicle. My parents bought it slightly used in 1984, and kept it ever since. I drove it my junior year of HS. Then we junked it; engine block had a crack somewhere and coolant always came out. Wish i still had it just to drive around the mud in.

1997 Chevy Malibu (7/00-6/05) I moved up in the world when we bought another new car. Got me through A&M with no major problems.

2000 Malibu (6/05-12/05) Dad wanted to give my brother the older malibu cause it was a piece of sh** after i had been driving it for 5 years. Bro's first car. Traded it in after 6 months, cause i felt like i needed a truck. Kinda wished i had kept it for gas mileage reasons.

2006 Chevy Colorado (12/05-present) My current truck. Z-71, crew cab. Kinda wished I had just gotten an extended cab and had kept the malibu. I've put way more miles than I thought on it in a year. 22,000 and change right now. I thought I'd only put 15k on it a year. Guess I won't make that mistake again. Runs well though, and gas ain't too bad, but it's not a huge truck either.

94-97-----1988 Dodge Ram 50-oddly enough a pretty decent little truck blew out water pump coming home for christmas in 97--so light I could go a lot of place the guys with bigger trucks would sink

then '98 Dodge Ram--Auto v6--initally I thought this was great (I was used to a 4 cyl) I ended up putting three transmissions in this truck--granted this truck was driven like a 4wd up in the mountains for 3 years, it wasn't 4wd

Currently---2003 toyota tacoma, extended cab, auto, 2.7 4 cyl., 4 wd---it took me about a year to find this truck. It's not a combination that is found much in Texas (normally we like our power). However, I've got a 4wd that easily averages of 21 mpg. Oddly enough, due to the gearing, power has never really bothered me. In fact it has more get up and go than my old Dodge v6.
