No chit. Seems like $300 we'll spent. OP would have gladly paid that and thought she had a good deal.
She's actually really luck this lesson in buying large items cost her $300. Many on here have paid more for that lesson.

Wow… we did not end up buying the car that they offered at ~$40,000 because it was just COMPLETELY ABSURD. It was completely Absurd to go from $33.5k to $40k. We asked them to price match the more expensive car to the price of the original one, since it was THEIR FAULT, and they told us to basically ***** off.
Sweet deal probably incoming...reproag said:I sent you a PM.Kvwina said:

I purchased from Buck exactly 11 months ago. There was nothing unexpected when I got there (I live 90 minutes away).Kvwina said:
Just saw it and responded. I really appreciate your words Buck and hopefully I won't encounter another dealership like this again, especially with the advice aggies are giving here about where to go for a new car and how to avoid a situation like this again. I really do appreciate the help and advice everyone has been giving me here.

I'm sure FLATOUT will fix it if she or her boyfriend speaks with him to explain what happened. But at this point, the bad press is already there, so what incentive does he have?
And I normally wouldn't care about using student loans to pay for dumb chit. They're the ones that have to pay it back, but when these people with massive student loan debt have the morons in DC wanting to forgive their debt with tax dollars they take from me, I have an issue.
Verbal contracts are binding in many instances (one of the few exceptions is real estate). But they are difficult to enforce. I am not sure about auto sales, but I would venture to guess that a verbal agreement for an auto sale is binding. Is there a lawyer who can confirm?dubi said:
FYI, agreement over the phone is not binding. Just so you are better prepared for negotiations next time. They needed to have signed the document agreeing to your bottom line.
It sucks that they treated your significant other badly. I will say that this is what you would get at most dealerships so hopefully you have learned not to trust what anyone tells you on the phone.

How has no one asked why the OP didn't just locate a car in the THREE WEEKS between the "total" of their old car at one of the THREE Hyundai dealers in the Austin area. Or Carmax, or online, or any of the dozens of used car dealers all over Austin to find a new vehicle? Or even look at other brands. Toyota, Honda, Kia.....
If she didn't record their phone call, how do we know they had a binding agreement?ATL Aggie said:Verbal contracts are binding in many instances (one of the few exceptions is real estate). YT, that is the twitter slang for white people
Like I said, it's difficult to prove in court, it turns into a "he said/she said" argument. I just went through all the dealerships to find the exact car/trim/color we were looking for but couldn't find it on those websites. We wanted to get the same exact car we had last tome, a Tucson SEL FWD in a White Exterior and Black interior. We couldn't find any dealerships that had this car on the lot when we started calling around, until we called College Station.
Well the thread has since been crapped on so here goes:Kvwina said:
It took this long to start searching for a car because we had to go through total loss with our insurance, who needed the other person's insurance information before going ahead and finishing up with our claim. Our accident happened on 12/19/22 when we were in Dallas to see the Christmas lights, away from our home in Austin. We were hit by a 21 year old who merged into our lane, and were hospitalized due of the severity of our injuries. As a result, we couldn't get the other person's insurance information at the site of the scene until the police report was finalized, which was about ~14 days later. After we got this information, we were able to finish processing our total loss claim. We have been looking to purchase the same car we had before, and the only one that was in stock at the time that we started calling around to dealerships was College Station. It's also taken a long time to get back into dealerships since we've been dealing with a personal injury lawsuit to cover our hospital bills and (as of now) chiropractic appointments.
