Welp, I cleaned the cruiser more thoroughly than I have since I brought it home on Saturday. When I backed it under the carport and turned it off I could hear hissing from under the hood. Opened it up and could see hot gas and coolant spitting out from the seam on top. I'm having it repaired at a radiator service shop but I think there's a good chance I have a head gasket leak as well.

The radiator cap has a little sludgy light tan coating on it. Mud and the radiator repairman agree that it's motor oil in the coolant. Now I'm second guess the radiator repair. If I have to pull the head I might as well spring for a new OEM radiator while I'm at it.

Anyone got a prebuilt parts list for a head job on a 2F?

I can't remember who the user(s) were that wanted a 40, but this is an outstanding rig.

I am friends with the seller and have ridden in it. He is anal about his side cars and just has too many to enjoy them all. This is a great running arizona truck with perfect patina. It will not last long.

Cruisertrash is doing this in his build thread on his red 60. Maybe the same parts?

I spent most of yesterday researching what parts to get etc. Nailed down the water pump, hoses, and still looking at the thermostat housing. Cool Cruisers sells the gasket kit but I can't tell if it's any different than the cheaper on at Auto Zone. I'm thinking I'll buy the cheap kit and an oem head gasket and not use the kit head gasket. If I get a full part list for a 2F I'll post it here.

Be careful going with the cheapest or non-year specific engine components like the water pump. The reason I know this is because I ran years with a misaligned fan belt. Depending on the 2F there are different length water pump shafts. You want one that matches your year model, fan clutch (yes/no), and pulley contour. For that reason I highly suggest turning to city racer or CCOT that can get you the right length - not the "will fit".

I just did a lot of this myself. I don't have a parts list to help you and I looked through my phone, I don't think I have your number anymore. I'd be glad to swap info if you want someone to bounce ideas off.

Where did you get the filter housing drain tool? I don't see that on Fumoto's site.

Can you use the EPC to find your part numbers?
Streetfighter 02
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I searched for the EPC and it's pretty interesting however if I select FJ43 it doesn't give all the parts for my model year. I do think I've got it all together between TPD, City Racer and Cool Cruisers. I'm just waffling on if I buy the Cool Cruisers gasket kit or the Fel-Pro. I think I will for sure buy the OEM head gasket and toss the one from the kit.

This same seller is about to list his beige 60. It's has been meticulously refreshed and maintained for several years under his ownership. It is a cars & coffee/daily driver quality truck with very nice original paint, not patina like his beige 40. This is not a wheeling rig. H55f/rebult TC package from Georg, 31 KO2s, OME lift, OEM parts always used. It drives fantastic and needs nothing. High $30s.

I'll check with a friend who is constantly talking about a 60 to DD. Got any photos? I see the price.

Unrelated but I was able to get my original radiator repaired for $80. I ordered a new OEM 4 core today anyway along with the other parts I needed. Just a casual $955 out the door.

FYI this contraption did NOT work this weekend. Had to use the stupid plastic tool. Don't know if it was my housing having a sticky spring or what. I replaced it with a metal housing, maybe that'll work next time.

Did you screw the bottom 'wheel' in? I just got mine in the mail yesterday so I haven't tried it, but I think you need screw that in to release the oil.

Do yall leave this in the oil filter housing and just connect the hose & drain when you're changing the oil?

I did screw the bottom piece in. I'm dumb but not that dumb

Something is wrong with mine. There are no holes in the sides. Just the top

That looks awesome. I emailed them but they appear to be out of stock all the time.

In the meantime I'm returning my Apeixoto tool to Amazon. For the next one I'll just get the Motivx kit.

Yes he makes them in batches and then they're out of stock for a while. There is a thread on mud about them and he posts when the next batch will be available. It's worth waiting for imo.

The $80 radiator repair seems to have worked. I got it all put together Saturday morning and filled back the cooling system with water. It's all holding and after idling and driving the temperature gauge sits in normal range. Still probably moving forward with the head gasket repair but will have the mechanic look at it just to be sure.

Looking at an early 100 LC. Clean Carfax, Phoenix truck with no rust. Will need the timing belt in a year or two.

What should I take special looks at before I pull the trigger?
