Do they have tires on them, or just rims? Anyone know if you can put a tire from the stock rims on replacement rims? I thought I read about something most tire installers do to create a good seal that basically renders the tire useless on new rims, but I might be wrong.

One tire only. Other 4 are rims. Haven't thought about them in 30k miles, but remember them having no curb or road rash issues.

Let me know what you'd want for them, I may come take a look.

Looks like they go for around $500 for a set of 5 on EBay. Pick them up, and I'd take $400 for the set and the tire.

Aaaaaaaaaand my 10 day old baby got rear ended today.

Even if it was a light rear ending have someone inspect the inside welds on the tailgate. They are notorious for breaking. If that happened it'll rattle on and off until the day you get rid of it. Or worse it'll eventually sag or break.

Yeah, I'm getting his insurance to pay for a body shop evaluation. I had some light bumper damage either way, and had read that those welds are notorious. My back gate is still functioning fine, but since the spare took the brunt of the impact, I'd hate if my spare broke off mid-freeway or something. Better safe than sorry, and might be able to get a new bumper.

A carrier like this takes all of the tire weight off of the tailgate. This will be important if you ever get big ol' tires!

Got a buddy who has one and his hinges still failed. Know of two others who complained and may have had failures too.

friends don't let friends buy *****tybuilt products.

They may be expensive but you will want a swing arm tire carrier that is attached to the tailgate and bumper. The ones you have to disconnect and swing out then open the tailgate work but can be a pain on a daily vehicle or if you need something out of them while it is raining. I found a hell of a deal and wound up getting a Bestop version. it has been great. Has held my 37s quite easily. The best is quickly opens and shuts with one hand and minimal effort pushing or pulling.

There are quite a few other manufacturers who have similar bumpers.

What's more expensive, a $1000 bumper or fixing the gate if/when it ever poops the bed?

Probably the tailgate.

Over the weekend, for reasons unknown, my wife left her driver door open with both vehicles in the garage. Because of the way our garage is laid out, I can't see her car much at all when I come out to get into the Jeep, mostly because she has a Fit and it's tiny.

Long story short, I started to pull out of the garage without realize her door was wide open next to me, and ended up ripping my rear right fender flare halfway off. Gouged my paint down to the metal on my door frame, and bent her door pretty good.

Moral of the story? Haven't found one yet!

Bodyshop said no damage from the rear ending.

Bought all the replacement fender clips I need to fix that, just a matter of ripping it off and rebuilding it now.

Weird

2 yrs...75k miles with a 35" tire attached to mine...it has been nothing but peachy.
