Honky Tonk Kid has some truly GREAT gumbo last week. It had shrimp, sausage and some burnt ends in it. Unlike anything I've ever had.

Also, EMY, I made your usual Friday BBQ stop for you.

He said, specifically, that there are new places opening up that are too new to make the list. The ONLY NAME of the new places that he mentioned was Guess Family Barbecue. He said he got a taste of it and can't wait to go back and do some more research on that trailer in Waco.

there are several trucks/trailers on the list including some in the top 10. I think one of the editors even said somewhere that they are just too new.

I would love to try them, but I am not going to drive 35 mile for any truck that might or might not be open when I get there and then have to eat in the car or outside. Give me airconditoning and I really prefer a waiter to having to try to carry my food on a tray. I have a major limp and it is tough.

I've eaten at Mueller's once...about two years ago. We specifically took an overnight trip in that direction to eat there. I won't go back. I had a rib. Huge and had to work hard to chew it. Husband had brisket and he wasn't impressed. I guess we hit a bad day as it seems everyone else is in love with Mueller's. Still won't go back.

Your secret is out, hoss. I got to Guess at 11:10 and the line was about ten deep. When I left around noon, they were already out of chicken, pulled pork, and sausage.

Today is the last day that Guess Family BBQ will be in front of Bare Arms Brewing off of the Circle.

Next week they move to their new location at 6th & Jackson, near the Magnolia Silos.
