Lubbock here. But I never considered the South Plains to be in the panhandle...guess I've been wrong all these years!
I didn't think Lubbock was a part of the Panhandle either.

EDIT: Just saw on another thread that you are from Canyon. I moved here in 1994, and am not part of one of the big old-time farming families here. (I don't intend that to sound bad...they are great people, I just moved here 90 years after they did.)
