My pest control does a fog treatment monthly and leaves a couple of the mosquito bucket trap deals.

Do you think your chemical mixture would hurt St Augustine? That's what I have.

No reason to think it would. Bifen granules are used to control chinch bugs.

Just when I have the mosquitoes under control, sod webworms/moths are back with a vengeance. Guess I'll spray the yard. Again.

Anybody tried the RM 43 yet? I put mine down about 3 weeks ago. It finally got about 90% of the live stuff, and quite a bit of emergent stuff doesn't look healthy. I'll follow up with spot treatment in about a week or so, which should hold things over until the spring.

I sprayed this treatment tonight Courtesy of 94chem:

One ounce of Bifen XTS and one ounce of Tekko Pro (25%)per one gallon of water in a pump up sprayer. I mist my entire 1.2 acre lot about 3 - 5 times per year, including indoor and entry spot treatments. Kills mosquitoes and roaches, and nukes ant beds if you saturate the top. Usually takes 3 gallons. I could pay a pro to do the same job half as well with the same chemicals and pay 5x as much, but I figure I can do it myself with my chemistry degrees.

Bifen kills the live ones, and Tekko kills the egg cycle. Yard will be mosquito-free within 2 days.

Where can i buy these chemicals? Any issues to be aware of with pets?

I'm a big fan of Bifen, but have found the Cutter RTU hose end sprayer to be easier to use and decent performer. You can find them at Amazon or big box stores.

I'm going to spray my yard again this weekend with what I used earlier in this thread.

Supposed to rain Thurs/Fri. Mosquitos will love it.

In terms of pet safety, I don't have a dog right now, but everything I read said to let it dry before pets go out.

I dont have pets so i have not read the label but you can see the labels for the products on the site before you buy...

I just ordered Cyzmic CS / Nyguard IGR. This has been my favorite combination. Cost me like $160 and will last most if not all the season and some.

This year I got a quote for mosquito control and it came out to $650+....i decided to just pocket the $490 and continue to do it myself...i have had good results overall...nothing is perfect especially if your neighbors do not spray. Avoid flowers etc...

The Patio Egg....can be found a local ACE hardware. Comes with a solution you put in a small egg like container.

Tougher Than Tom's Mosquito bait and trap...simple to use. Order online.

It will.

I use it for mosquitoes, wasps, roaches, etc. Also helps with grub worms.

Do these actually work? I have a couple of Thermacells and I can't really tell if they make a difference.

i used Spartan hanging a few years ago....did not notice a real impact....however....i am thinking about trying this in addition to spray:

maybe put 2 in backyard and 1 in front....

They do, but sneak it into your neighbors backyard. You attract area mosquitos to your domicile and they get you while waiting for their turn at the egg.

FYI Bifen seems to nuke ant beds, fast. I just stir them up an spray maybe a dime sized spray and they are done in 30 mins.

Yes. I would look at the water based version. Oil based has a longer residual but may stain the brick.

Carry a sprayer in your mower then spray the bed after you run the like over.

I am looking for some help. So my wife has a couple of citrus trees and some herbs in the backyard. Reading up on Bifen & Tekko it looks like it's not good for lemon/citrus trees.
Any recommendations for an alternative I could use in my Ryobi fogger to treat my yard?

Can you spray everything but the drip line of the trees with bifen?
TJaggie14
How long do you want to ignore this user?
For now, yes I can fog and avoid the drip line. They are still in pots, and she hasn't decided if she's going to keep the citrus trees in pots, or plant them in the backyard.

I am just concerned that while I'm fogging the bushes & the trees along the fence line & the yard that the wind carries the Bifen/Tekko over to the corner where we have the trees

Is this a legit concern to have, or am I just borrowing trouble?

Sprayed last night with the Bifen XTS + Tekko Pro cocktail. The mosquitos seemed lighter this evening but I still got bit a couple of times. I sprayed the grass, the fence, and the base of my house. My yard is not very big so we'll see how well of a perimeter it makes and how long it lasts.

I did learn while spraying that one of my trees is infested with cockroaches so that was fun. Sprayed the tree trunk and the nearby fence a bit extra. Plenty of dead roaches this morning.
