Those aggressive effers were attacking my hands and face tonight while I was murdering them with Bifen. I hate suicidal mosquitoes.

Egg cycle disruptor. Mix an ounce of that in with the Bifen, and spray at the same time. Bifen gets the live ones, and Tekko nukes the life cycle. I've had 2 roach infestations at the beach. It takes a few weeks, but you completely knock them out if you kill the egg cycle. Spray in crevices and areas where you'd expect them to travel. No fleas on my pets or in home for years either.

Do you do this on the lawn too?

Also I am looking to spray a few acres with Bifen and would love to treat the grass as well at the same time. I wonder if I can mix the lawn and bug chemicals or I need to spray them separately.

You can mix. I always add an IGR (insect growth regulator) to the tank. It has a longer residual effect, especially when spraying in doors. IF you end up seeing bugs at all once the insecticide starts to wear off, you'll see deformed nymphs that will never reach adulthood/reproduction

Yes, I sprayed this morning. Entire yard, and the perimeter of heavily wooded areas. I would guess 3-4 gal/acre, about a full one pint bottle of Tekko Pro for a 4 acre lot. 16 Oz of Bifen too. Probably talking $75 total chemicals and 3 fills in a 5 gal shoulder sprayer. 3 hours work?

I mix the Bifen and Tekko. I don't know about lawn chemicals. I have Zoysia and don't need any.

I've got a 50 gallon towable sprayer and a gallon of Bifen. Planning on doing this soon.

On the yard itself, just water. Zoysia controls its own weeds, mostly. But in the kill zones, like where I have a pine straw covered natural landscape, I kill everything using RM43. It's a glyphosate (Roundup) combined with a quaternary amine. The amine kills the soil so nothing else comes up. I generally don't use any brush killers. The RM43 works okay; it's subtropical so something is always growing. It doesn't contain pelargonic acid, which Roundup has for eating through the waxy leaf layers. Pelargonic (C9) acid is just cosmetic, so the homeowners can see it working. The real work gets done a week later in the roots, so don't worry if you don't see wilting right away.

While we are at it, after the storm we've seen more wasps than ever. Thought the wind would wipe them out. Any thing better than Hot Shot?

I don't douse them, but I've had no issues with incidental contact. I had some smaller trees that I would spray the weeds right up to the base, and I never had problems. The quaternary amine is basically the same type of chemical that is in home cleaning disinfectants.

Very nice. I need to spray a ring around about 50 trees and I've always been very sketched out to do it. Thank you.

My neighbor just got back from out of town and I was in his yard talking. We got eaten alive so walked over to my yard. Didn't get bit once.

Got the bifen and tekka pro loaded up in the sprayer. How long do I need to wait after all of this rain for things to dry out to apply outside? This afternoon too soon?

Just as an fyi, the Bifen IT can also be used inside your home to spray the baseboards quarterly. It's what I have used inside and on my perimeter for years.

Not a professional, just a DIYer getting ready with a sprayer. I am going to wait until everything dries up a bit. I've still got a sloshy back yard and so that'll probably be tomorrow afternoon.

I sprayed 2 weeks ago, and stuff is still dying. I try to hit everything, but put more in the areas where there's growth. So I usually follow with a second treatment a month or so later to knock out anything else. Should keep it looking good until the spring.

Yep, I know we all hate roaches, but seeing them upside down and dead tells you it's working.

I hit mine about 2 weeks ago, and will do so again soon. After the deluge, there's only so much you can do. I'm guessing I knocked out 95% after Beryl, and we're probably at 50 - 60% now. When you've got wet brush piled up 8 feet deep up and down the street, it's gonna take Jesus coming back to completely eradicate for more than a few weeks. That's why the Tekko is so important.

With all DIY projects, there is slip in the schedule. Tomorrow is the day reserved for spraying the house and the yard. Will report back.

As I mentioned earlier, so forgive me if I repeat myself...

One other thing to notice...after Harvey destroyed my yard, I replaced all the grass with zoysia. After de-thatching the first year, and pulling a lot of thistles that had grown through from whatever Harvey washed in, I've literally done nothing to the grass for 6 years except minimal watering (10 minutes every other night in summer). My yard looks almost like a golf course - way better than a hack like me deserves.

I'm seriously beginning to think that the Bifen/Tekko treatment is playing a big role in this as well. Don't get me wrong - I would go with zoysia 10 times out of 10, but I think the pest control is also helping.

The raspberry ants are displacing the fire ants in many places. Although they are less aggressive, they are way worse on yards.

Yes! I'll have a random ant crawling on me at least once a day with no idea where the hell it came from. This was after an interior and exterior application of tekko pro and bifin IT.

This is the only thing that has worked for ant control for me. I put it on the mounds for instant kills but also apply the powder on the foundation/weepholes of my house and around thresholds.

You just saturate the top of the mound. General spraying won't do it.
