We could use the rain.
No, we don't.

I know this comes as a shock to many, but it doesn't need to rain every other day. Your grass and trees will be just fine.

I am repairing part of my fence, drilled post holes last weekend. Every one that wasn't right up against the house in the select fill used to build the house up had groundwater in the bottom of the hole at least 6" deep, and I only am going 24"-30" deep.

The ground has plenty of water.
Your ground has plenty of water. Based on your past postings, you live in a river bottom where it floods all the time. If you don't like living there because it rains too much, move. The rest of us that don't live in the river bottom flood prone areas like to see green stuff and appreciate moderate rain on a regular basis when we can get it.

I'm with schmellba.

Sounds like you live in some arid desert part of Houston. You want more ground water, move.

When I was looking for a capacitor earlier this summer, I called several places and they wouldn't sell electrical components to the public. Finally found a place that would. Meanwhile, the last time I needed something, Transtar sold me not only the capacitor but also a new contactor.
Anyone on the north side I confirmed that these guys will sell capacitors to anyone

I don't live in a river bottom. Good try though.

Oh, and if you want to live somewhere that it rains every other day, then move. And please, show me anywhre in Houston that doesn't have green trees, green bushes, green grass because of this awful, awful, awful drought of about 20 days you are suffering through.

See how that works?

That's because of unnatural soil unlayment.

Not kidding. When you use a clay that is excellent for building roads, it is **** for growing vegetation without very regular watering.

Nobody but you is talking about wanting it to rain every other day. Somebody said we could use the rain after we went about 3 weeks with very little rain and about a week of 100+ degree temps, and you reeed out on them because the water is close to the surface in your post holes. Maybe just tone down your sensitivity meter just a bit and you won't get called out for your freak outs over the topic of rain. It is ok for you to disagree with somebody else's opinion about the preferred amount of rain without having to go full we-todd about it.

It's been much less off track since Puddy stopped crying like a little girl every time his name was mentioned.
