There's a shop on the other side of 45 not far from Costco that sold to me.

Transtar A/C Supply, Inc. on 1960 near 249 also sells to the public; bought a motor from them a while back. Old Vietnamese dude behind the front counter is hilarious.

Johnson and Johnstone are all over Houston and will both sell capacitors to the public. Supplyhouse.com will be cheaper than Amazon by about half but shipping will take longer probably.

When I was looking for a capacitor earlier this summer, I called several places and they wouldn't sell electrical components to the public. Finally found a place that would. Meanwhile, the last time I needed something, Transtar sold me not only the capacitor but also a new contactor.

All good. Here's a 45+5 Titan HD, also made in the USA, for sale for $18.35 at SupplyHouse. I paid $37.47 for a similar Titan HD 40+5 at Johnstone today (I think I count 9-10 of their locations around Houston, probably within 30 minutes of anyone inside 99.

I only go to Johnstone Supply if I need a part on the spot and can't wait to order it from someone else.

Despite perception, this season's current accumulated cyclone energy is running nearly 3 times higher than usual! We've amassed as much ACE so far this season as we'd typically see by the peak day of hurricane season (September 10th). We've done this on the backs of only five storms so far, three of which have been hurricanes, and one of which (Beryl) smashed early season records in the Caribbean and Atlantic.

What was the site / number for tree limb and debris removal requests? We had a big limb damaged and I finally took it down and piles it up next to the street.

My neighbor has 2 trees and diced up and ready to go too...

One important resource is Harris County's curbside storm debris removal program. Please see the graphic below for information on how to sort storm debris for curbside collection by Harris County's crews. Please be patient as the County's collection efforts may take multiple weeks to complete. To report home damage and request debris pick up, please call Harris County's Debris Hotline, at (713) 274-3880, or e-mail homeflooding@harriscountytx.gov.

I've always found that uptick near the end of October to be odd.

A lot of those are storms that start in the southern Caribbean down near the Bay Islands of Honduras and get pulled north by troughs in the US to go up over Cuba and across Florida. Earlier in the season the trade winds just push them into Central America, but when the fronts start making it through to the gulf in October, they pick some of those lows up and let them develop as they track north across the Caribbean.

People forget that we went from September 2013 to September 2016 where there were NO named storms in the Gulf.

What was the name of the one that laid waste to the NE side of Matagorda Bay? Pretty sure it was in that time slot.

Isn't this what we've all been complaining about on the Houston board? I realize Lanza triggers a lot of you but he's not wrong to be frustrated. Centerpoint's ability to communicate and manage these outages is not acceptable and the more negative publicity they get the more chance there is that something could change.

What do the 14-21 day ECMWF, GFS, ICON, CMC, NAVGEM models show? I bet one of them hits Houston.

If not, keep changing variables until one does, then publish to X.

No, we don't.

I know this comes as a shock to many, but it doesn't need to rain every other day. Your grass and trees will be just fine.

I am repairing part of my fence, drilled post holes last weekend. Every one that wasn't right up against the house in the select fill used to build the house up had groundwater in the bottom of the hole at least 6" deep, and I only am going 24"-30" deep.

The ground has plenty of water.
