Yeah, its his twitter behavior that landed him in the dog house with me. His weather is ok, but like anything, I consume a few different resources to get a more complete picture of the topic. Climate change and sports too.

Space City Weather is a good source of info but those with F16 leanings lose their **** whenever mention of climate change is implied. Best to ignore them.

Literally no one here (today) brought up his politics except to point out some people dont like it. No one mentioned his stance on climate change, nor really cares when it comes to whether a hurricane is going to hit their home or not. His prediction for Beryl was egregiously wrong, people relied on him as a professional, and he got butt hurt about being called out for it. If that was you and you are still going to rely on him, great, your choice have fun with that.

And then it came towards Houston and he lost his mind anytime someone asked him what happened.

It was really weird behavior from a grown man. Turned me off in a big way.

This. He whiffed on Beryl bad then turned into a raging clown when called out on it. He's a hack as far as I'm concerned.

Beryl fooled everyone. most of the models had it going into TX/MEX border except for the ICON which had it going into the TX/LA border days before landfall and the ICON is one of the models considered not so reliable. Mother Nature doesn't care about the models.

SCW has done good for Houston. They really caused some of the local media to tone down their hype when they saw the appeal these guys had.

But SCW is also wrong a lot. Being humble as they were and being "no-hype" worked for them, but Lanza especially has gotten a big head. The only reason I created a twitter account in the first place was because he was so interactive and would go into detail on what the models were's telling. Now we can mostly get that from 10 different sources and it's all the same info he sees.

For example, he railed against people for even considering the Icon, which turned out to perform best on Beryl...so much so that he had to come out and apologize. He's very much a "credentials man" where if you are the academic he follows, otherwise he dismisses you out of hand.

Which is all bad, but then layer in he's your standard woke lefty and it's even worse. I don't even mean climate change, but more that you can't go a day without some lazy left argument against Trump or Abbott or whatever.

In the end, he wants us to be impartial about his weather analysis, but in other aspects of his life, he shows he has extreme biases, and those have to be accounted for and that has hurt him. He of course refuses to acknowledge that and doubles down.

It's part of the disorder. They can't turn it off.

They're just weathermen. I didn't even know they had names. I just read the forecast on the website. Lived in Houston 26 years. Still don't know who almost anybody is, in sports, weather, reporters, anchors. Can't imagine caring this much.
