Depends on where they are. COH only has so much stock of replacement signal heads, and I would guess that number right now is lower than it ordinarily would be, thanks to the May storm.

I know TxDOT has brought in signal crews from elsewhere in the state to help. No idea about mutual aid for others. I know after Harvey City of Houston put out a call across the state for cabinets and controllers because they burned through their spares real quick.

If the signals complete dark - it most likely doesn't have power. If its on flash it could be as simple as needing 'reset' after a power outage, or it could be that something got knocked loose and needs repaired before it will go full colors again. It could also be as bad as it got struck by lightning and a bunch of the guts need replaced.

Looks like it is FINALLY accurate for my area! Finally updated to show areas that got power on Tuesday.

However, anyone know the difference between "partially energized" and "energized" (dark green vs light green). I am the former.

Woof…that Northampton circuit has a lot of people down.

I'm sure partial means some parts of that circuit aren't fully operational yet.

Depends on jurisdiction. If in city limits. The city. If unincorporated, then Harris County Engineering. Same with if FT Bend it's their Eng/Public works dept.

From what I heard HC Eng is pure chaos.

That may be true. There is a light green section near me that I know still didn't have power back this morning.

There are not a lot of dark green sections on that map. At least not up here in North Harris Co.

Still without power (77304 aka South Dallas) and going on day 5.

Entergy originally had 14 July as a restoration date, but it was moved to 15 July.

My daughter's neighborhood is an island of blue in a sea of green. Word is they're having trouble getting crews in on the levee ROW to clear an enormous tree from poles/lines.

Our street shows dark green, energized, yet we have no power.

It was recommended earlier in the thread for people to check their house main panel and make sure the primary breaker hasn't tripped.

If they aren't flashing as a 4 way stop there is nothing COH nor TxDOT can really do to fix them. They have to have power first.

Although I will say after the derecho some of the major avenues had TxDOT crews with generators to keep the lights going. Which seemed crazy at the time.

Unreliable communications is not information. For my situation personally, I have not been misled yet. The only comms we have gotten from CP is "we'll let you know when we know more".

We waited for two or three days while crews were out assessing damage. According to the CP-provided maps, that stage is mostly done. Yet they still aren't providing information to customers. Even if you think the assessment time was reasonable, communication is lagging.

Another thing is depending what happened at your home you may need to flip the breakers on the outside of your home near your AC if they won't kick on as well.

We had some storms roll through Spring a bit ago. The power flickered a few times, but stayed on. These were the kind of storms that lately had been causing hours-long outages, so maybe the repairs have made an improvement.

We are in Sienna and light green (partially energized). No power quite yet but there are multiple areas in sienna with power.

Stand by generator still running strong at about 105 hours straight so far and a maintenance check yesterday.

This is what I have been wondering. How much of this cluster F could possibly be due to that freak storm? In terms of equipment/supplies/inventory shortages, but also in terms of possibly loosening trees and huge branches?

Before this storm, my thought was, "well at least that May 16 storm brought down a bunch of weak trees and branches before this hurricane". While this is true...how many did it push to the brink in certain areas and make MORE vulnerable? Not sure if that's how things work, but makes sense in my pea brain.

My buddy showed me pics from Atascocita and New Caney and I couldn't believe it. Huge trees brought down all over the place. Would not expect to see that to that degree in this type of storm.

Purely anecdotally speaking, we had almost no storm debris on our property compared to the May storm, so I think the May storm did reduce the potential for damage in at least some areas.
