I lived in Northampton during Ike. The tree damage was incredible- especially in the D to I streets. I can only imagine how horrible an even more direct hit would be

We only ever find out of town trucks at Costco. They are talkative about the issues going on. My neighbor came back with this screenshot on one of his trips looking for Centerpoint to reset our transformer fuse (above).

These types of compensation agreements with out of town crews should've been in place . Apparently they weren't. More CP incompetence
Or gullable Karens.

Just had a nasty thunderstorm come through Richmond while I was grabbing lunch. Was looking at the Pecan Grove Facebook page and looks like most are without power again...confirmed I'm out again with my Ring app.

Lost all xfinity curiously at 4pm Monday after storm had passed. 5th day with nothing. Their update site is a joke and you can't reach a real person.

Cancel service and of course they hook you right up with a rep!!!

East League City area.

I found a xfinity customer forum (Houston Outage) if anyone would like to provide feedback directly to company. https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/customer-service/outage-in-houston/664f6b1c372cab2c67fb0717?page=2

We lost ours on Tuesday at 2:00pm
under clear blue skies. No text from XFinity. Nothing to date. There was a truck on our street so my wife flagged him down. He said nothing he could do until power restore to main source.

Did you lose light, water, or food during Hurricane Beryl? That's YOUR money lost. Over 2 million Harris Co residents lost light, It doesn't have to be this way. We have an opportunity to build a county owned power hub using federal money, improving energy reliability. Want to learn more? STOP to opt-out.
I would rather live in Chicago than deal with a Harris County run power supplier

Didn't realize there was a change.

So looks like Jason is making $7M. The last CEO was making $37M. So where did that other $30M go? It wasn't for maintenance, repairs, or vegetation.

I believe the 37 million included stock...So not sure if it's apples to apples. Give Jason time to reap a huge windfall from getting all this "vegetation removal" done for free.

I grew up there and my family still lives there. Ike was a mess. I think we were about 3 weeks with no power for Ike. My dad's street has a few houses crushed this week, and he had some photos he shared of some really bad ones on Darby Way or Glenwood Maybe. I think he's lucky that he had to remove many of the large pines over the last 5-10 years for other issues.

Sounds like the Harvey tax they passed. Everyone was so shell shocked that they willingly gave the county million's of dollars for them to waste. If they put this on a ballot, I bet a ton of dip****s would vote in favor of it.

Looks like over 6,000 people lost power from it so far. CenterPoint was reporting 848k without power. Now up to 854k.

I'm not up to speed on which group of people Texas scorecard pisses off, but according to this article, Biden is playing politics with FEMA, per Dan Patrick.

I'm well aware of how many massive trees are here. I've lived here for almost 50 years.

If the people want this to stop happening there are two choices. Move everything underground for some exorbitant amount of money or remove things that are likely to fall on lines/equipment during major wind events.

But I'm apparently an idiot so feel free to disregard my comments.
Honestly, we are all idiots for living in such a nasty horrible city, if it's any consolation. Seriously, this place sucks and just keeps getting suckier. Parts of Autumn are cool I guess. And a few days in Spring.

Yeah during Ike we were without power 17 days and Glenhill was completely impassable for about a week due to trees down. I imagine it will be the same this go around

BF said it's passable because that was the route he's been taking to avoid the crazy traffic down Gosling where the lights are out. But he said there were a ton of big trees down, trees on houses, and live wires in the road. Wires I think still have not been removed.

We are getting nasty thunder and lightning right now. Thankfully no wind. For the love of all that is holy, our repair better hold up.

I can't believe I haven't seen any trees on houses in my neighborhood. Crazy the difference a couple of miles makes.

Power and Xfinity are both back for us. We have been EXTREMELY lucky. Getting the internet back was some work. The neighborhood (Copperfield) was out in a massive internet outage. Some people are just getting electricity back.

We got a message from Xfinity that service was restored Tuesday night --- nope! So, I had to call. We had a tree from our neighbor's yard uproot, crash through the fence, then almost hit our house. The tree snapped the internet line to our house. Luckily, we were able to get a tech to run a new line on Wednesday afternoon. The tech said that they are EXTREMELY busy with outages.

Who's responsibility is it to repair all the stop lights? COH I'm guessing

Next week when street traffic is back up it's going to be absolute hell getting around this place with all the stop lights still down.

It's already getting bad and only gonna get worse as we move closer and closer to normal.

We just had a lightning strike that made the cat and me both jump.

I hate lightning. Three houses near me have been struck and caught fire in the 11 years I've lived here. One was damaged so badly it was torn down. I'll be glad when this one passes.
