I was in college during Rita when family and friends leaving Katy/Houston got to CS 6-10 hrs later. Many folks I know won't ever evacuate after that.BillYeoman said:texasaggie2015 said:

If Centerpoint gave out expectations it would be easier…..granted.
You also have to think about families with pets that don't have the means to get out of town nor can afford a hotel room for many days at a time. Perhaps they don't have a car with A/C and one reliable enough to get out of town.
It's essentially a basic calculation for most folks. How bad would it be if I stayed (how bad is storm) and lost power vs what is the cost of leaving?
