Of course. Pretty much everything made for public consumption is geared for that but Ryan was talking about local news so that's what I was talking about.

Oak forest here too.. the past ten minutes have been terrifying.. fences blown off, branches through neighbor's roof.. and the wind is just howling.. I'm scared of an extended power outage, damage seems much greater than Derecho..

wow.... it's been fairly tame at my place off washington. For me, the derecho was much scarier.
Had intermittent outages between 4:30 and 6:00 this morning, then no issues until 10:30 - and with all quiet outside, poof, there goes the power.

Can see a few downed power lines in my row.. so this will likely be protracted..
I'm in Williams Trace..I think I may get power back sooner than most being on the San Bernard grid and not center point..I didn't lose it during the derecho but did today

Same thing happened to me during Rita. Made it through the storm and then the next afternoon when it was calm the power went out. And then didn't come back on for over a week. I'm virtually certain centerpoint cut it off.
