Out here in Bridgeland, so far, it hasn't been nearly has bad as the storm in May. Maybe 40-50 mph wind, if I were to guess.

GOOF here and steady **** pumping. Couple of brief power outages. Tornado Warning over the nickel/kashmere gardens heading west was a bit of a wake me up.

But yeah I don't think the winds will match what we saw in May. These will be more sustained though

Power has gone off and back on 3 times in last 20 minutes here in Pecan Grove in Richmond.
Just lost power in Bridgeland. The generator I had installed 1.5 years ago and never got used outside of exercising, has been getting a workout this year. As I right this power came back on.
Just saw a ch 13 reporter in bay city where beryl landed. Power is still on there.

Lost power for a few seconds in the heights. Came right back.
Can someone more weather smart than me explain why the dry air helped bring the storm together and why that is a good thing?
Had it not gotten the dry air in the middle, was there a greater chance that it just continued to intensify prior to making landfall?
