The real problem with flashers is it makes it harder to tell when someone is braking ahead of you. It is a very bad choice. It might make you feel better but its fools gold. The road is more dangerous when flashers are on. Flashers are for an emergency not a caution.

It also makes it more difficult to tell if someone is changing lanes. If you can only see one side of the vehicle then it looks like the vehicle is trying to get over.
It's downright stupid and unsafe. And I have no idea when this became a thing. It certainly wasn't a thing 20 years ago.

Forgot to add I passed a car in Cypress in the dark pouring rain that had flasher on, and not their headlights. It appeared and disappeared every half second.

Big difference in forecast wind gust speeds between ICON and GFS - ICON much higher. In your opinion, which is more likely to be correct?
We need to get a law to make it illegal like in other states.

My wife is flying to Houston tonight (death in the family)....damn, I hope she gets in before it gets really dicey. Everything delayed understandably...but they're projecting a 10:20ish landing right now.

Intensity is way harder to predict than track. That said, it is in a good environment to strengthen until it comes ashore so my gut feeling is strong Cat 1, maybe Cat 2.
It is a thing in Mexico. They turn their flashers on for everything there. I think it has imported itself to Texas from that..

I thought someone here did find a part of the TX driving laws that said it was only legal to use them in an emergency?

I want to say a delayed thank you to whomever it was who posted about a replacement gas can spout. I don't even remember who it was now. But having a real nozzle and vent hole makes a huge difference when filling the generator.
