Drink at your own risk, just dont expect a bunch of sympathy here when your bowels become a petri dish and you are spewing liquid from your butthole for days. All you had to do was fill up a bunch of vessels right now to store perfectly fine water.

Not being naive and I get freezes, but has Houston ever lost clean water during the past 30 years over a hurricane / tropical storm? I have been here and can't recall. I get water is cheap, just asking the question.
I'm in suburbia in Mont Belvieu and we have boil water notices annually with storms or power interruptions. Most of us have local neighborhood/community water supply and not city supplied.

And maybe I was overly cautious….but I didn't trust the water during Harvey.

Our building didn't have water for a period of time during Harvey and I lived in a high rise at the time. It made me realize high rise living during natural disasters is literally a filthy nightmare. I'm with folks above, I just don't trust the water if power has been out a while or flooding is happening that could take facilities offline.
We have 5 cases of bottled water, plenty of food, and both tubs are filled.
Chainsaw ready to go as is my Dremel (you never know - I might need to perform delicate wood working surgery or round off an abrasive corner of something).
Have unplugged all electronics that aren't on surge protectors.
Unplugged my desktop and moved to higher ground (it sits on the floor).
All loose yard stuff and smaller plant pots are stored.
Hurricane shutters activated although I can't put my bolt on window covers up because I didn't prepare enough in advance to have the right hardware to do it.
About all I can do.

Houston can sometimes be a head scratcher: the city doesn't rely on water towers (in fact they're disallowed in city limits) which would gravity feed water and instead pressurizes the water system with pumps. . . But then has almost universal above ground power lines.
My old mentor who spent 40 years in commercial real estate in town always said that was just so the city fathers could brag about cheap electricity rates and affordable housing vs other metros.

Have a gallon of water per person for about 3-4 days, just in case. Download some shows on your iPad. Charge everything you can today. Get a battery-powered radio and lanterns. Fill your tubs with water so that you can flush your toilets.

First, you will be fine. A cat 1 to cat 2 just isn't a huge deal.
Second, top off your car tank. Get some non-fridge food, get water. Fill up a bathtub with water (on the low chance you lose water and/boil notice you have some water and can flush a toilet).
Third, find some friends to go have a Hurricane party.
(Seriously though, as of now and things can change, this isn't a monster storm or anything. There will be some flooding, some wind damage, but nothing crazy)
If you think there might be street flooding where you are at, locate a parking garage within walking / biking distance and move your car to the 2nd floor interior of the parking garage and leave it there. Downtown, montrose and heights have public garages that are open.
Will be protected from flooding, flying debris, trees falling on it. Go pick it up after the storm passes.

Going to HEB for my regular grocery run. Pray for me.
The correct answer was visit the liquor store yesterday, but an HEB run for water bottles, non-perishables and beer (and maybe a cooler) is advisable.
If you're in an apartment there's not much else you need, but if in a house then a chainsaw and gas/oil maybe worth it, too.
Charge up your devices and don't drive in the rain.

We bumped our weekly grocery run to yesterday and it was already busier than the normal Sunday crowd. Amazing how many people had two carts, one with just like 6 cases of water.
