People have just lost it with this storm. The same people that complain that "the media" sensationalizes everything too much are complaining, loudly, that we aren't taking it seriously enough. Mind you, none of them are meteorologists. I'm astounded. Never seen it this bad.

To me, this looks like a storm making landfall closer to Brownsville. So, adjust the lines as if the red were closer to Matagorga, and that may give you a better idea. ((Shrugs))

There is indeed a large wild card that may prevent Beryl from intensifying quickly in the Gulf - how quickly its newly more substantially disrupted core can recover after emerging from the Yucatan.
