I had one very similar looking in my back yard and took it out last summer as it had started dying. So glad I did,otherwise it woulda been in my house or my neighbors house on Thursday.

Woodland Heights. My mom on the 900 block of Woodland St said their power just came back on.
Bridgeland just lost power again just now after having it for 24 hours. After junking all the spoiled food and restocking, not to mention working from home, this is really demoralizing

Idk how I never noticed the previous strike but I really don't want to take this one down if I don't have to. Will be watching it closely. Have another that the drought killed thats about the same size that's coming down soon as well as several other trees.

Back in town and what little venturing out I've done today it seems like there's a massive slow down as they're moving trees and downed lines/poles.
Dont see how they're going to be done by Wednesday.
My guess is the knocked out the quick and easy ones first get as many people back online as possible. Now they are onto the big messy ones.

I've always thought generators were physically loud and annoying…. But I didn't realize how emotionally annoying the sound of a neighbor's whole home generator was until the power was out and we sat in the dark/heat while his house was lit up and livable.
I we have BIG oil cooled Generac. We can barely hear it when it is running. Our neighbor has a little air cooled
Generac. It is soooo stinking loud. I hear his over mine and is so much further away from us.

My very enterprising neighbor got our little row of houses powered on today. He was looking at the power poles on our back alley and noticed a wire on one of them disconnected. Apparently there are disconnects above the transformers. He took the picture to a crew on another block and they came right over and fixed. May have taken a long time for us had he not done this. Picture below, you can see the wire above the transformer that is not connected.

Oddly the power went out near me. I got a text from CenterPoint saying there was an outage, but my power is still on. However when I walk outside, I can hear generators running.

Norhill south of Hogg got power earlier tonight.
Power blinked back off in Bridgeland at 6 p.m. 30 minutes later they sent a text saying it was restored but it wasn't. That was terrific to come home too.

What street? I'm on Richelieu and the the south side of the street had power for about 5 minutes then it flickered a couple times then went back out.
CenterPoint sent us an email while we were at the FIL's house, that our power was back on.

The Centerpoint (CP) maps and trackers are not accurate by any means as there are areas that CP claims has power back on but those areas don't have any power on as of this evening.
You don't want to be in a small pocket without power they will focus on getting big chunks back online. Hurricane Ike 16 days with no power!
