Not a drop at the house, but dodging hailstorms to get to IAH and now flights are stacking up.

The drive on the way to work was intense. I see why now. 45N at Grand Parkway got 5 inches of rain in 2 hours.

This is a SLOW mover.

Last night they had predicted it would pass through the metro area by 6-7 am but I'm here at City Center and it's still a good ways off.

In the back-kings point and no wind damage but scary close lightning and some small hail earlier this morning. Still raining.
Lake Livingston dam is releasing 109,000cfs at 10am which is close to the all time record of 110,000. Lots of rain in April above Lake Livingston in the Dallas area plus the Livingston area hit hard this week with flooding.

I wanted to fly out of Hobby which would have been a layover, but hiring company insisted on nonstop out of IAH "because it will be faster". Now I have a 3 hour delay and counting at IAH, if it doesn't get cancelled outright.

Fulshear getting pounded RITP right now.

I needed to water but waited to see how much rain we were gonna get last night. Didn't hardly get a drop. Flipped the sprinklers on when I got up and now it's pouring. Thanks Space City Weather!

Buddy's parents live upstream in Riverside. It has already flooded more than any time since 1957 and going up even faster than the forecast has been showing. Crazy stuff. They're not there, but water is already into the house by a couple of feet.

Anybody know how the northbound feeder road of I45 is between Rayford and Woodlands Parkway? I have an appt at a location right on the feeder road at 2:30, and I can't get them to answer the phone.

Got the inflatables out in Kingwood, but the street flooding looks to have gone down (went and got the tot from preschool). Lake Houston is high and out of its banks at East End, but not too bad. Hopefully them draining the lake a foot before all of this helps.

Anybody hear of which Kingwood neighborhoods are flooding? It could get worse over next couple of days as East Fork buries us. Woodstream, River Bend, RiverChase. Any info would be great.

I forgot to pour out my rain gauge from the last rain so don't know how much we got, but my FIL is also in Kings Point and said they got 6.5" as of 11:30, so I'd imagine we're somewhere in there.

Not United related but similar: I flew American last week. I got on two different planes trying to fly back and both of them had mechanical issues. We were told the back door wouldn't latch. I had to stay in a hotel which I finally got to around 3am. There were several of us in the same taxi going to the hotel (AA covered the cost on this) and some were coming from a different destination and were delayed and missed their connection. They also said they were told "the back door won't latch".

The taxi driver said he's heard that same story dozens of times over the last few weeks. Interesting.

My morning flight was pushed back all the way to the afternoon. Got home about 24 hours after I was supposed to. AA gave me 1,000 reward miles and a $12 meal voucher as an apology.. which amounts to almost nothing. Pretty crazy stuff. Flying is brutal these days.

Anyway, back to the weather. I needed to vent somewhere and found an opportunity. Haha

I live in Riverchase (section 1) and think we'll be fine. The houses at the very end of the cul de sac that are street level may get a bit dicey over the next couple of days. I went and grabbed my youngest out of preschool at Good Shepherd around 11:30 and took Mills Branch to Northpark to Woodand Hills, and was fine. The stop sign on Woodland Hills by St. Martha's school was fine going south, but there was high water on the NB lanes with a van sitting in it. I cut through Bear Branch and Sand Creek to get home and everything there looked fine. My wife is a teacher and was told Kingwood Dr by the HS was impassible, but that may have changed by now since it stopped raining.

I'd imagine the very back of the newer section of Riverchase and Woodstream will be watching closely over the next day or so, but I'm hoping they'll be good.

If you're at work, I'd suggest leaving and getting home. My dad lives in Trinity and said they got 11" earlier this week and another 9" overnight through this morning.

Too bad your house isn't an airport.

Lina telling people along the eastfork to evacuate. Is this really just a couple of feet away from Harvey levels?

She literally just said "you have two choices, stay for 2-3 days or leave."

Wife said we didn't get a single drop, and now the radar is clear. At least this company I'm interviewing with got me a later flight today, first class at that, and told me to get a drink on them.

You can go to https://www.harriscountyfws.org/ and select the Inundation Map option to see how far the San Jac and Lake Houston are out of their banks. When you zoom into the back of Kingwood, you can see how close the water is to the houses.
