Nah, I can't get on board with this. I respect the law, or the licensing or trademark or whatever is relevant here.

I realize and fully accept that my burning desire that the Houston NFL football team someday wear Columbia blue and have that fantastic oil derrick logo is based 100% in nothing but emotion and nostalgia and I have not one shred of legal basis for expecting it to happen. But man I wish it would.

So, change the colors to the Columbia Blue. Rename Texans something oil related like Roughnecks, Roustabouts, etc. and instead of the old derrick use a pump jack!

So if this vindictive family owns the name "Oilers" (not sure, do they?) then how do we account for Edmonton Oilers or Pearland Oilers?

I've never had an issue with the "Texans" nickname for the current NFL franchise in Houston (Dallas Texans in the early 60s eventually became the Kansas City Chiefs, I believe), but the Oilers nickname is what probably all long-time Texans think of when they think of professional football in Houston. I'd love to see that nickname, logo, and color combo return to where it rightfully belongs.

Adams Family and NFL already asked UH to cease and desist with their version of the uniform. I don't think the NFL would allow the Texans do adopt a color near the luv ya blue without the Adams owner lady acting like her father.

I think John has been playing both sides of this. As I understand it, he does Titans stuff on the side. I can see why he wouldn't want to take too much time on old grievances.

You know, since the Texans have existed, I just have never been able to quite like the Texans logo.

It seems like I should, but there is something about it. Just feels cheesy with the name Texans, like, they don't really go with each other.
