Vehicles westbound backed up to Tulane from Shepherd at 4:15. Saw at least 12 cars cut down Nicholson in a 90sec span.

Just following this thread, literally every update about the construction is worse than the last one. Its like every step is meant to inflict maximum pain.

Exactly how the idiots in gov't want it.

I think they've been clear about it. The goal of the road diet is to reduce traffic. Just sucks that it'll divert to roads not meant for it.

Just wait until some dumbass runs over a pedestrian on a side street that was cutting through. It'll happen. I pray it isn't at Milroy park. Because Allston is the first street to turn North on after Yale and the kids park is at 12th and Allston.

Has anyone seen the flying ****ress who came up with this project even riding her witch bike in these new ****ing lanes? I swear I have only seen people riding their bikes on the sidewalk.

Didn't even make it 6 hours ... nailed by multiple cars. This is eastbound at Dorothy.

(I'll admit I almost hit it on my way home from rehearsal tonight.)

Do you honestly think any of these people live in the neighborhoods they are ****ing over?

Finally! Two bicyclists on W 11th ...

... leisurely holding up traffic by riding in the automobile lane, completely oblivious to the fact there is a bicycle lane FOR THEM.

Also, lots of people holding up traffic today to do a three-point turn in front of Advance Auto Parts to make a U-turn to get to Dorothy, and others just driving in the opposing lane to make the turn.

I have to admit, the folly of this project is somewhat morbidly entertaining.

Milroy Park... where dozens of families dropped off play houses that the kids loved, and the city took them away and put them in storage.

Had to sit through an extra light crossing Heights cause a dip**** was illegally turning left holding up traffic.

Lady on Nextdoor was griping about getting passed by an e bike going 30mph and running the light at Heights.

Do they have signs up that say it's illegal to turn left onto Heights? I know they're up on Heights to 11th but when I drove through that intersection on Tuesday I didn't see any.

In related news the BIGGEST issue I have with this whole project is not opening up Westbound 11th at Shepherd to 2 lanes. The bike lane dies there and there's dead space on the Eastbound side.

They could EASILY make it where 3-4 cars could stage there waiting in the light which would be huge for traffic movement.

I also feel sorry for the donut shop there. They're going to lose business because getting in and out of there won't be worth the pain.

Really hope that place makes it through this. Their sausage, cheese, and jalapeno pig with the strip of bacon on top is amazing

I'm not on Nextdoor, but I've heard it's been a huge, angry meltdown over this project.

I hope they all realize Abbie Kamen is the only one that can feel real pain over this. Turner is term limited and the rest of the people are COH employees who DGAF about the residents this effects and basically untouchable from ordinary citizens.

I think Kamen is the only one that could actually lose her spot over this. I don't think she will as the people *****ing don't realize it and even if they did won't show up to vote next time she's on the ballot.

What makes that funny is that the people melting down over it are likely voted the morons into office that initiated this project of pure virtue signal.

Abbie doesn't give a **** about opposition to the project or what people who actually live here think. I expressed my concerns and opposition for the project directly to her in a one-on-one conversation. She rolled her eyes at me, told me I was wrong, and refused to discuss it any further.

I will absolutely consider voting against her for this if she has a viable opponent. I was tempted to hold up a sign on 11th that said, "Are you enjoying the new 11th St? Call Abbie Kamin @ ___"

This is exactly what you should do...or pay a bum $50 to do it so that your name and face don't get out there.

Oh **** no. You couldn't pay me enough for that.

Besides, I'm playing in 3 orchestras and 1 band right now. That's enough on my plate.

At the rate the city of Houston picks up trash cans, the bikes will never get to drive in those lanes.

I'm sure these bike lanes were celebrated as a win while no one will actually check to see if it's working.

I'm curious what James' previous route would have been without these bike lanes. I bet it would have been very manageable.

Which goes to the whole point missed by most everyone that supports this - I believe the majority of people that opposed this aren't anti bikes or bike lanes. We simply don't understand why 11th was completely designed for bikes over cars. I'm all for safety but it's pretty clear traffic flows we're not studied and thought out.

Certain people wanted something visually so a large amount of residents are now inconvenienced because of perception over function.

Either way I'm boycotting Gypsy Poet since they're Pro 11th Bike Lanes.

Wonder where they got those Bcycles cause all the stands I've seen lately are taped up with no bikes.
