On Wednesday, Governor Greg Abbott issued a waiver allowing restaurants to deliver alcoholic beverages with food purchases.

The governor also directed the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) to waive certain provisions to allow manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers of alcoholic beverages to repurchase or sell back unopened products.

they would need to sweeten the deal more for me to eat there. Their food is borderline inedible and last time my parents were there they got offered a $20 gift card after a mouse was crawling around under their table.

It really is though. Especially in a city with as much good Tex Mex as we have.
It is cheap and the margs are good but that doesn't make up for the subpar food

Had a boozy quart of tonys frozen margs and queso and guac delivered to the house for a little happy hour quarantine style... hit the spot!

I used to absolutely hate hate hate Tony's. Only went cuz the wife and her friends like it and for their margaritas. But about 2 years ago, I heard they got a new chef and improved their ingredients. I actually really like the food now.

OK, this morning I have a different email for Brickhouse Tavern deal. 10% off all curbside orders for a limited time.

No other info and not sure if that means the other deal is off. Maybe it is to get the people who are only ordering for 1 person and can't make the $30 limit?

And can we keep this thread from being derailed by a like or don't like the food from whatever restaurant?

I was in the room here one day... watchin' the Mexican channel on TV. I don't know nothin' about Pele. I'm watchin' what this guy can do with a ball and his feet. Next thing I know, he jumps in the air and flips into a somersault and kicks the ball in - upside down and backwards... the dang (sc) goalie never knew what the hell hit him. Pele gets excited and he rips off his jersey and starts running around the stadium waving it around his head. Everybody's screaming in Spanish. I'

I think that is a fair ask so long as everyone acknowledges that the best food comes from my backyard.

It just wouldn't be a food-related thread on the Houston forum without that.

Saint Arnold put together a good running list broken down by neighbourhood of restaurants open for take out and delivery. When I get to a computer I will link it.

We go to La Hacienda around the corner from Tony's. Margaritas are not as good, IMO, but the food is better. My kids love it, so it is our go-to.

I, for one, like the food at Tony's. The enchiladas are gravy heavy and you kind of need them to be that way because of how hard the margs hit.

This may be the issue. I haven't been in at least 2 years so maybe it is better.

I'll try and refrain from derailing now.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I guess that explains why restaurant food tastes so much better.

No kids? We go through a pound every week or so. Pancakes, waffles, biscuits, toast, oatmeal, "plain" noodles, mac n cheese, grilled cheese.

And it doesn't go bad. We always have a stick in the butter dish, un-refrigerated.

Used to be in my rotation when they had $3 margaritas M-W. Then they decided to price themselves too close to El Tiempo.
