Speaking of collective insanity- any of y'all seen what happened with the College World Series? NC State disqualified and forfeits to Vandy because of 2 unvaccinated players testing positive which led to the whole team being tested and 4 more positives, all of whom had been vaccinated. And all of them were asymptomatic. Just stupid.

On a sadder note- hanging with a friend who's sister, BIL, and nephew live in Minnesota. The kid is 8-years old and has had to be put into serious therapy because of covid. They had to deal with the crazy restrictions up there for like 18 months and the kid who had been very outgoing and friendly has regressed. Literally has panic attacks going outside, is scared to play with kids who has been his friends, and just generally can't interact outside his immediate family. Then the parents found a diary where the kid was having suicidal thoughts. Obviously the parents have freaked and the kid is in therapy but you know that this isn't remotely a unique situation.

Yeah...sad situation but I also live in Minnesota and I'd like to hear a bit more about the parenting in that scenario. I know a few cases like that and each one points back to the level of insanity the parents showed during the whole ordeal, not just here but TX, OK and KS. So not just isolated to places with heavier restrictions.

I didn't get into that part. Didn't want to disparage my friend's family. But I don't disagree with your point at all. My point was more how this has really screwed up kids for no damn reason. But, I'd wager places with heavier restrictions have higher incidence of this sort of thing.

It may not be suicide or anything, but just sad stories all around for kids. My niece was an amazing ballet dancer in KC and just up and quit last summer because she didn't like dancing in a .ask.

What if you're vaxxed and you're in Mexico and come up positive on your antigen test to come home? Is there any way to get back in without having to wait for a week or two?

Get a self test and pretend to swab yourself in the cvs drive through. Or ill just make you a mychart test results printout for $25

Pretty sure there is a difference between the antigen test and the rapid. I think the antigen shows if you have had it in the past, and can also indicate the present, but the rapid just shows right now. Don't do the antigen if I am correct. Only rapid. Don't forget to tip your swabber!

FYI - I've done trips the last 2 weeks on United and all 4 flights and time in the airport I wore my 12th Man gaiter the sent me as season ticket holder. The flight/CDC regulations say no bandanas but plenty of gaiters in all airports and flights. With this thing you can blow out a candle across the table so was MUCH better wearing it versus regular mask.

I'll definitely be wearing a gaiter whenever I start flying for work again. So much easier to breathe and I'll be long hauls in 2022 (assuming the delta variant hasn't killed us all) so a regular mask can GTFO

I've been traveling a bit recently and can confidently say that I've seen WAY more masks in the Houston area than anywhere else.
