So my step kids' father decided to continue on with taking them to Copper Mountain last week (Sun-Thurs) for spring break. They made it back home Friday night. Just saw a notice out of Colorado that if you had visited certain ski resorts in the last week (Copper Mountain being one) to "minimize social contact" because of a large outbreak. Does this mean we are now supposed to quarantine?

Guessing I'll be making a phone call into work in the morning to see what I should do.

My company is international headquartered in Switzerland, 15,000 employees, 3.4Bn in sales... nada. Our regional president said business as usual until city county or state says otherwise.

plenty, my wife works for United Healthcare and they are WFH if you have certain circumstances, but managers are kinda letting their people do what they're comfortable with.

Chevron is not officially WFH, but parts of it are. (Including my wife's part of the organization)

Mine as well. We got an email on Friday that said all is normal, but to contact HR if we show symptoms.

Though my boss told me to take my laptop home every day because it's probably just a matter of time.

My husband works for oil company and unless you're basically a single parent who needs to be at home with kids, you're in the office this week. My old employer Academy has yet to release official information to their people- no surprise there.

My FIL works for Chevron Phillips over off 225, they were told to bring extra clothes and a pillow in case they need to keep folks there for an extended period of time and cut off traffic in/out of the plant. Said it could be up to 14 days.

I work in Oil & Gas. Many could work from home, but the guys at the manufacturing facilities have to be in the shop making parts and shipping orders. Or else we can't invoice and get paid.

I'll believe anything from Mattress Mack or HEB Scott long before I'll believe anything from any politician or media member. These people have real skin in the game personally and truly seem to care about their employees and their community.

Sure they're raking in cash while doing it but at least they're transparent and competent.

Politicians and the media are incompetent and pretend they care. All they care about is votes and ratings leading back to the money they get from both.

I'm glad they're not. HEB is doing just fine making decisions that's best for themselves and their customers in the short and long term without answering to moron investors every quarter.

Not saying being publicly traded is bad but there's a time and place. It could actually be detrimental to HEB as they're rocking and rolling just fine.

In fact, now that I think about the best places I can think of when it comes to customer service are private which includes CFA, HEB, and Buc-ees. I don't think that's completely a coincidence.

Yep some of the companies with the best customer service are private. They also don't have to bend to the will of their stockholders or BOD. I don't think that is a coincidence at all.
