I still think it is hilarious that every hood rat in Deer Park is claiming they cant breath, their chest is tight, nose running, throat sore and have a headache because of this and not the pollen count being high.

They learned to make those claims at town hall meetings sponsored by Tony Buzbee and all of the plaintiff law firms in town. Free beer, free crawfish, and free instructions on how to act like something bad happened to you.

Same thing with the Harvey claims.

That's sounds like a real good use of county resources. We don't even know what happened, why or what the impact will be. Hell the incident might be still active for all I know.

But...

Gdammit we got no clue wtf to do but lets get them pleadings drafted and on file. Show them ITC mfers who runs this town /lina

What's even funnier is that ITC is for sure one of the top taxpayers in the region along with all the other facilities along the channel.

Where you think that money you bout to spend on bike lanes, Putin dog parks in bayou, trans story time and other stupid **** comes from?

ITC

And lyondell and shell and, Exxon Baytown etc etc.

File lawsuit first, ask validity later.

It isn't a lawsuit, despite the sloppy wording. It is an environmental enforcement action. But it is a money grab all the same. The County gets to split the fines with the state when they prosecute violations of state environmental laws. So this "enforcement action" is their way to try to get a share of whatever fines the company is eventually determined to owe for violating TCEQ's rules.

That makes more sense then...

Administrative procedure that's pretty standard for spills and incidents like this ... playing itself out as it does in every case like this...

But ... the dude they interviewed was going full Erin Brockovich on em'

Talmbout "allowing companies like ITC to do business in our community"

Wtf you talmbout homey...

Places like ITC are the reason that there's a gd "community" here in the first place. By community you mean the mfers that work at these plants and live nearby?

Or you mean the folks that live ITL and drive their Tesla's to brunch on sundays? That community?

Houston just didn't get here because it was a nice place to put a town.

Point is that this community bs gets tossed around, battling these evil polluters demanding justice, talking about Injunctions preventing ITC from reopening w/o government review.

Who they think they're helping with all this?

The people driving tank trucks, dudes that work at machine shops making valves, fabricators, all the turnaround subs and their people, They got bills to pay too. If the plant is idle that's no good for anyone on down the chain.

It's crazy to me how much anti business sentiment there is in a town built on that business.

It's like folks in Denver saying they are fed up with all these gd trains. Or folks in Hershey, PA saying they've had enough of this gd chocolate.

We are 50 years removed from dumping straight PcBs in the San Jac River and now all of a sudden we going full nuke on what's probably just an unfortunate industrial accident.

Last I checked we've had two space shuttles explode mid flight since the last major incident along the ship channel that I can remember.

There's got to be a push back on this **** at some point is all I'm saying, and I'm tired of hearing it.

Let's be honest, if the mental midgits making those claims could do anything that actually contributed to the community, they wouldn't be SJWs.

We were able to remove our vehicles from the ITC site today. These were parked on the North side of Tidal rd just West of the fire

We couldn't get our trailers out that were further North because of water lines that they had laid down to bring water from the channel for the fire

Two things:

2) I was told a first hand story about the contract fire SME from Lousiana that ITC hired. They gave him $1MM upfront to get him here, he shows up in the boardroom full of ITC Senior Management with a giant dip in. He then spits in his cup and says something along the lines of, "I know what kind of monster we're up against, and I'm here to put this MF out." Then proceeded to walk out the room to get to work.

Please let this be true, so f'ing awesome!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, the only truth about the guy who put the fire out is he was from Louisiana. No million dollar fee, no dip in mouth, and definitely no mic drop in front of ITC big wigs.

Sad day in the Tine. Regardless of facts, I'm going with the original story as fact.

I have confirmed this happened during butane injection. Pump failed causing butane to vaporize and starting the fire.
Any updates to the pump failure cause from page 1? An EH&S coworker who offices in a plant close by just told me she heard there may have also been an overfill situation.

Things are still a mess in carpenters bayou and old river.
Must wear respirator and hazmat on site.
USCG still has area shutdown to traffic.
Vessels are decrewed and cleaning/decontamination plans are being made.
