Hey man not all of us are as talented as you. I futzed around with steaks for a long time. Charcoal, propane, iron skillet, broiler, sous vide, lots of flips, flip once, cook from frozen, cook from thawed, thermal shock, salt and pepper vs other, marinade vs not, cook to temp vs cooking to time... etc.

In all seriousness that is exactly what we are saying. That when you say the word hamburger you are talking about ground meat. Not the sandwich, not the bun. The "hamburger" is the ground meat patty. Thus our final assertion that while a Patty Melt is definitely it's own thing, it is still in essence a hamburger, but simply a subcategory thereof.

A hamburger steak is a hamburger patty covered in brown gravy and sauted onions. It's available at Luby's and other general American cafeteria and cafe style restaurants. Look for it next time you go to someplace like Denny's.

I don't take issue with a Patty melt being a hamburger.

I don't remember the last time I was at a Denny's, sober anyway. Still not sure about Fake Steak.

That's a pretty solid 20+ minute drive just to grab a burger from an icehouse...hell it's 10 minutes just to get out of Sienna to Hwy 6

I don't live in SP, so doesn't affect me at all

Why are we poor *******s? My home value has doubled in living here 10 years, the Ft Bend Toll Road comes into our neighborhood and gets me anywhere in the city fast, its a nice place to live, not sure why non-Sienna people have so much to say about it. Those who live here love it.

Burger Barn is just down the road off of 6, make a hell of a good burger. They have cold beer, though I don't know if it's anything more than the standard offerings that everybody on this board seem to scoff at because they prefer the taste of rancid ass water with a cool name instead.

Has anyone mentioned the burgers at Cottonwood? I haven't tried this bad boy yet, but finished my son's "Plain Jane" cheeseburger last night and it was great. Great bun, flavored patty, fresh cut fries. Can't wait to go back and get this one.
