Ralph Lauren had a JV with Richemont (parent company of ALS, Piaget, Vacheron constantin, IWC, and others) to produce high end watches. Some of them are actually quite nice

You can polish them. It's plastic. It wasn't the most elegant process, but I did mine with toothpaste and it cleaned right up

They don't sell replacement crystals, but the Swatch store will polish it like new. Might as well go to the Galleria in Houston and just buy a new one. They have those in stock every day.

I have decimated my watch collection!

I started selling pieces (Shunbun, Aquis, a Navitimer) to gear up for buying the wedding Reverso for my wife.
I sold my Green Arrown/Sea Speed's beater/All Black GMT Master II when I got the Root Beer.

And now I just sold the Root Beer! If we want to have a discussion on why I sold it two months after purchase, we can do that later. But for now what I'm curious to know is if YOUR collection looked like this:


(plus a couple Casios, the watch I made in Geneva, and an "heirloom" Fossil)

and you had about $20K to spend, what would you be looking to add?

I'm debating between blowing it (or most of it) on one big time watch or using it slowly over the next year to add 2-4 pieces as they catch my eye to round the collection back to 5 watches give or take (I think 5 watches is my ideal collection size).

What would you do?? (Bonus points for bringing pics to the discussion)

My vote is spending it all on a Lange 1.

Something understated like a field watch (hamilton khaki, farer, anordain), something German (sinn, nomos, GO), something Japanese (gs, prospex, presage)

Glycine airman is a fantastic watch. Bought one for my uncle who flew F-111 in Vietnam. Apparently for many aviators that was the watch they were given upon graduation from pilot school.
