I enjoy this thread! Thought I would share this. My dad got this 1943 Aircrew watch for my nephew's graduation. It runs, but not great. It is currently in London getting refurbished at The Vintage Watch Room. Those guys back then must have been tiny, the band doesn't even go around my wrist.

That's another discussion. Depends on the political climate and time of war needs. During the surge, they were letting in anyone. I turned down 40k to enlist because my dad said I should go to college
