Not that your trying to save money but the regular Seiko brand came out with a special edition watch a few years ago called the "Cocktail Time" SARB065.
They are no longer in production but you can find them on the used market. These things sold originally for $500-600 but at last check were in the $1500-2000 range in the resale market which annoys me a little because I had on in my shopping cart when they were still available for months but never pulled the trigger. I'm choking a little at the resale market price but still think its a fabulous watch for the money and I'm not sure I could ever justify the Grand Seiko knowing this is out there.
There's a newer model out there with a slightly different model number that says Presage on the dial and it's not nearly as in demand. Just an FYI if you like the GS but want to save some money.

The list is $48k which is too much for a steel version that can be purchase at a boutique. Last year's Overseas Everest went for $37k and they were limited edition. Folks will still purchase, but the price point seems out of whack.
I like the dual time in steel with the blue better. The photos do not do justice how cool the blue is in person. It looks dang near black when moving around.

Long time lurker. Not in the game yet but do very much enjoy this thread and hoping to make a few purchases at some point.
Ok, so be gentle here -- the attached is a fake watch I bought in Taiwan about 20 years ago just out of school. If you were around in that timeframe you might have met Tony the Watch Guy too. He and his dad built quite the operation. My bosses and coworkers bought hundreds of watches from this guy over the years. Young and dumb, I gave them a hundred bucks and went on my way. I knew nothing of watches at the time and just liked the way it looked. I was young and naive and had no idea how big an issue the fake game and corporate theft would become (especially in Taiwan/China)... I don't in any way condone supporting these or any other crooks and haven't in a very long time.
All that out of the way -- is this even based on a real watch that Rolex released? The closest I have found is something like this with a standard second hand.

The layout of your watch is commonly referred to as "small seconds". I haven't seen a real Rolex with the exact layout as yours, but I'm not a Rolex expert by any stretch

It probably bears some resemblance to one somewhere down the line, but at the end of the day it's a cool story for you and that's what a lot of this is about!
New FTAC watch alert, just got finished with another flawless transaction with FTAC for this 41mm Cermit? I have a hard time remembering the names.
He actually sourced this one for me and came in at $500 less than any others I had found on line. Not only that be he took some drawer dwellers I hadn't worn in forever in trade so it only cost me a few thousand out of pocket.
Notice how well the rolex sets off the nutrigrain bar stains on my cuff that my 2 year old so lovingly left me before leaving for work today.
