But how are they going to be priced, and are they going to be as hard to find at a reasonable price as they are now?

That and they're relatively new. They don't have 100+ years of a rich history.
Seems if the quest is quality and value, it doesn't really matter how long they've been open.

I mean, TAG should be the poster child for this, no?

Seems pretty hypocritical at best from you Farmer.

I asked this forum recently about Baltic. Anyone own one? Feedback?
I honestly can't tell you.

They appear to use well thought of movements at a solid value brand price.

I've never handled one to say about fit and finish. My personal opinion is I love their styling. Just about all of their models appeals to me favorably even compared to the luxury names they would be styled against.

For example their Panda compared to a Zenyth

Or their grey and blue GMT is one of the few GMTs I like.

Their dive watches remind me of Tudors, but without the divisive snow flake hands.

If the bicomplex line was automatics, I'd be all over them. I think they are beautiful.

Quality is a pre-req, not a differentiator.

To me, these new brands that get common movements and throw it in cases we've all seen before don't provide much value. Sure, it tells the time, but so does my microwave.

Give me something interesting, something with a story, something unique, something complicated.

Just say what you mean.

Something expensive and exclusive.

Doesn't have to be expensive. Nomos is one of my favorite brands. They're extremely affordable.

Don't be boring.

Do they come with a matching pocket protector?

I didn't realize taking a pocket watch and putting a band on it was innovative.

If you think they're so great, why are they considered one of the watch brands with the worst resale value?

Should I respond or let you keep editing and adding more silliness?

No pocket protector, but they sell a really neat sundial and other accessories. You should check it out.

What is innovative is they are an independent watchmaker that does almost everything in-house. Their calibre design & manufacturing almost all take place in one little town.

While I would appreciate a high resale value, what is important to me in a watch isn't what is important to everyone else. I'm comfortable with that.

So you're stance is they are innovative and unique, yet can't hold their value compared to lesser brands?

Sure. It seems like most of the watches that hold their value have the best marketing & brand recognition.

What's the classic definitive A Lange & Sons watch to buy? I love the company and their history but most everything they make is a little bit out there....I have trouble deciding if they're interestingly unique or crazy weird.

My microwave has GMT capability. I now know what time my Totino's Pizza Rolls are being heated in Naples, Italy, where they were invented.

Like all the great discussion on this forum. All watches have a personal reason. Last I read, Lange only puts out ~ 5,500 watches a year.

To me:

Lange 1, pink gold for formal/suit time. I like the contrast on the dial with the Roman numerals, hands, etc. Can dress down with other strap. Yellow gold is challenge to get. White gold - stuff on the dial seems to wash out. Do not care for the dark blue dial.

Saxonia with a date.

1815 up/down.

Took a year to get the Odysseus. It is their first sport watch. Love it and wears really well. I chose this one because I prefer straps over bracelets. It adds cool versatility.

I like the straps also because they do not stand out like the bracelets. Bracelets are nice, but not for me.

It's not a horrible problem to have. Lots of vintage watches available to you.

I have to wear a dinner plate so it looks like a watch.
