I agree. Part of it is just getting things you think are really cool to have.

This is a tertiary concern but I'd like to think my kids will get a kick out of getting the watches i aquire some day. Assuming they don't sell them all for the cash.

Nice. I did the same thing with my son but it's a less nice bottle. Everyone signed it on his first birthday.

I've got old Forrester birthday bourbon for each of the 2 oldest. Life was too crazy by the time 3 came around so she can go to specs and pick up whatever she wants when she turns 21 haha

Anybody have thoughts on ladies watches? I'm wanting to buy something for the wife and am considering cartier, but am open to other ideas. She's a petite lady and would want a delicate design. She's not necessarily a "watch person" but would appreciate quality and design. I feel like most lady's watches are basically just smaller men's watches

Fortunately my wife is the frugal one in our relationship. She is not into designer handbags, jewelry or watches. That being said, I'm sure some users here can point you in the right direction!

If she's not a watch person then you have to realize that if you're getting something other than quartz, the mechanical watch aspect is really just for your enjoyment. Also if it's mechanical the time will probably not be set half the time she wears it. Cartier and JLC both make great quartz watches for ladies, and probably most of the others too.

Oris and Longines also make real nice options.

Unless you're wanting it to be a total surprise, taking her shopping at Zadok's can be a lot of fun, especially if she's new to watches.

For a ladies quartz, I'd probably go with a Michele. It's not a connoisseur's watch, but I know several people that have them and seem to like them.

I bought my wife Omega Constellations before her recent change to Rolex. Was a great understated watch... Still have them when she wants to go smaller and less obvious.

Well, I figured that there had to be at least one guy here that has managed to land a nice lady who'd appreciate a nice watch

I've managed to convert my wife to the merits of a mechanical movement. She usually just asks me to set it for her when she decides to wear one, and I'm happy to oblige.

She also has a Bremont that she spotted and took an immediate liking to when we were out browsing one day. So she got it. I think I posted a pic of it pages and pages ago.

The Tudor Clair de Rose is pretty nice. Or a Black Bay 32.

probably a safe bet....and you can always surprise her by taking her by the Cartier store while running errands and having it ready for her to try on and take home.

You should definitely get laid for that.
