I have one I got twenty years ago when I graduated high school that means a lot to me. But $645 for quartz is a bit much imo.
yeah, had a promo code I was going to use to get it down to like 525....but I think I'm still going to hop on the Christopher Ward instead

I have 2.
I like them. Work well and keep good time. I like they don't need external light to charge the glow.

They were what I could afford at the time and are decent.

Patrick at OC Watch Guy and Nick at Nashville Watches are both legit. I have purchased several from each of them.

David and the team at DavidSW are great as well but you are going to pay more.

Another thumbs up for OC Watch Guy. Watch I purchased was better than described and pricing was fair.

it's freaking terrible, never trust it. I bought a Zenith from Ebay through guaranteed authentication and it was sold as NIB, when I got it the watch was dinged to hell and scratched up; which the buyer even admitted and offered to send me a chili's gift card (I'm not joking) as restitution.

However, since the authenticator had said it was authentic, Ebay's hands were tied and they couldn't do anything. I told them that the watch was 100% authentic, but that it was in nowhere near the condition that was stated in the ad; and they said that once their authenticator passes a watch, there is nothing more they can do.

Did y'all see this posted on the Premium Board?

Offering 25% off of the $945 price tag.

Don't really dig the logo but I'm sure it's a decent watch

I'm confused by this poster/company. May be a great watch but wasn't long ago he was trying to give discount codes for batteries, bacon, etc. I bought some batteries and he hounded me to write reviews after about a day.

Isn't that the same guy who I bought the Wasson watch from? In this thread? I think I only got $100 of though

Yes, that's correct. He owns an "ecommerce strategy consulting firm".

Off topic, but if I'm paying someone to do a branding program for me, they'd better be doing everything public facing under my name and not theirs.

Lol I had someone befriend me at a coffee shop. About a month later he hit me up asking if I wanted to make some extra income via e-commerce. Met up for coffee to see what he was talking about…….Amway.

He said I could own my own business, before he went any further in his little laptop presentation he had to pause and told me I would have to be vetted by his leadership team. It was at this point where I figured out this was the classic amway pitch.

Dude spoke to me like I had never been to college

Why are Breitling Superoceans priced in such a broad range? What are the specs that are driving the wide variances?

Sorry to some folks on here if this is a rube, not high end question.

What are your thoughts on the new white gold calatrava? I love the pebbled almost grosgrain dial, and it has the traditional hobnail pattern on the sides of the case. 40mm with decent lug to lug, beautiful exhibition caseback.

For real, if he knew you had been to college he would have led with Advocare. Advocare blitzkrieged through the Corps Dorms when I was in school; never seen so many pictures of corvettes and ferraris.

Call me uncultured - but I see $40k for a field watch. Not my style.

If he can spend 40k for a field watch, who are we to judge haha

I'm a huge Patek fan. The Calatrava is probably what I think of when I think of nice watches, and the blue Aquanaut is probably my grail (that and/or the A. Longe & Sohne 1815). But that particular Patek just doesn't do it for me. But I also think my opinion doesn't matter because I can't afford one, ha!

In reality, $40k for a field watch is such a true watch enthusiast purchase (****ing rich enthusiaust, but enthusiast). As opposed to just a luxury goods purchase. If most people are able to spend $40k on the watch, they're going 1) for something flashy and loud or notoriously exclusive or 2) at least something with a crazy complication.

But spending money on this is just a love for watches. Watches I'd never buy, but then again 99% of the population would never spend their money on the watches I buy.

Agree to disagree. I love the simplicity of a field watch and could see myself spending on one of these before dropping half that amount on a more popular watch with a complication that is of no use to me.

For me it's the subtle "f you" luxury that makes it great. It's a field watch, but with a hobnail finish, with an immaculately detailed dial, and of course the case is white gold. I love stuff like that.

Patek is one of the few examples of high end watches known for being good watches and not just jewelry that just isn't my style.

The complication watches are the only ones that appeal to me. The rest look nothing like I would want a high end watch to be. The Nautilus and Aquanaut look more like Cassio to me than $50k+ watches.

Vacheron Constantin moon phase or complete calendar, Jaeger-LeCoultre Master, and even Blancpain Villeret Collection are where I lean for design styles. And a Rolex Day / date is just the poster child for luxury watches.

Then again, that field style watch would be the perfect watch to wear if you had luxury money for an entire collection of luxury watches and wanted to wear a nice watch no-one would think was worth what it was.

If I was asked what one watch I could be given at any cost to keep and wear myself it would probably be the Traditionnelle complete calendar in white gold and grey.

I see beauty in simplicity. E=MC2. The cost and complication doesn't really do it for me. I'd rather have the Patek Field Watch than one of their watches that is worth millions but looks like this:

I like it and like the texture on the dial but it looks weird when the texture stops for the brand lettering. Kinda Loli me the diamond encrusted faces that stop in a weird rectangle for the brand name. Small thing but I can't stop looking at it

Silian, that white gold calatrava is probably the only Patek I really like. It's a beauty.

I love that Patek. I posted it a few months ago, I think, and was met with the same reception. I like that one and the new salmon dial Perpetual Calendar 5320. I love Pateks, but I doubt I will ever be in a position to afford one. I missed my chance on a Tiffany co-brand Gondolo for $10k that is probably worth quite a bit more now and die a little bit inside every day.
