I like the octo as well. One of the only heavily "styled" watches i like. Makes me think of eighties futuristic but still relevant.

The Istanbul airport is amazing. I had a 8 hour layover there on my way to Egypt. Get that Turkish Airlines lounge access. They have a Virtual driving range and all sorts of fun stuff.
I am actually flying emirates on the way to Istanbul but will be flying Turkish from Istanbul to Dammam on Sunday and will hang out at the lounge for a few hours. The airport is an absolute zoo but the lounge is awesome . I never been to the virtual driving range but I do like going to the movie theater they have set up like a concert hall with a live concert playing in surround sound in IMAX

Picked up a CW Aquitaine Bronze a while back and love it. Been eyeing the black Aquitaine GMT as I like general size and look of the model. Keen on a black GMT so it's limited my options in that price range and haven't found one I like as much.

There is nothing wrong with having multiple flavors of the same watch, but personally I think the CW GMT you're looking at is too close to the one you already have. I'm not sure how much flex you have in your budget, but the Longines Zulu Time would be a good fit style-wise.
There are some amazing deals to be had in Turkey on luxury goods. The lira has absolutely tanked against the dollar and they want dollars so badly they haven't changed any of the prices. I looked at a Bvlgari in person but was actually turned off by how they wore, they really do feel paper thin so much so that I was worried it might crack in half if I hit it against a door knob.
The omega dealer in the airport was the same, and from what I could tell the prices were about 20% cheaper than US MSRP, and you still got the 18% vat back. I just didn't see anything that I liked. I did buy my wife a nice purse from a designer store in the airport duty free, and it ended up being about 35% cheaper than what it would cost me in the states after taxes

My Dad passed a little over a year ago. As I've mentioned before, I inherited my fondness for Seikos from him. But two of the oldest watches I got from him were a Bulova President and this Ulysse Nardin… he bought both when he was in the Corps and stationed in Oahu, so probably late 50s. I recently bought a $25 strap from StrapsCo and put it on the Ulysse. I'm really pleased with how much I like this strap, especially for the price.

Not from Houston but check this thread quite often. I picked up a 3861 Speedmaster and got rid of the prior model. I've never been a fan of Speedmaster bracelets including the new version. I came across the Speedmaster Moonshine (gold variant) that is available with a rubber strap and deployant so I stopped by the Omega Boutique in San Antonio and they installed the rubber strap. I know most might think a rubber strap on a Speedmaster is all wrong but it works. Cool feature of the strap is on the inside as there are moon craters formed into the rubber. The most comfortable rubber strap I've worn and pictures don't do the combination justice.

Just saw this, thought it was pretty cool. I am a bit of a sucker for an interesting/unique complication. I'm not a musician but still think it's neat. Looks like they are on eBay for around $200
That is pretty cool. I play guitar and drums pretty regularly. My only concern is the volume not being loud enough for this to be practical. I think my acoustic drum set and electric guitars would drown that watch out. But still a very unique watch.

I agree. That's the only thing holding me back. I liked the Khaki Scuba, but don't like the larger 43mm version on my smaller wrist.
