Saw my first ever platinum blue/brown Daytona in the flesh today. Some distinguished gent was wearing it casually at the bar in Abu Dhabi with a vineyard vines long sleeve tee and shorts. Most beautiful watch I've ever seen, think they could probably see the glow from the space station

Polywatch?

https://www.seikowatches.com/us-en/products/5sports/srpd79

It's my everyday casual, not afraid to mess it up watch. I have a cheep blackout metal band I've shown on here as well as a couple of nato straps.
A tube of polywatch is about $6 and may solve your problem.

Well, I spent and hour yesterday and today trying this to minimal results. Even got the dremmel polishing wheel out.

I don't think polywatch works on mineral crystal. Just acrylic.

Bought my first mechanical watch a few weeks ago and skimmed a lot of this thread since then. Ready to be part of the addicts clubs

Whats up CharlieBrown......its a worse rabbit hole than allocated bourbon.

Hope you are doing well!

That's for sure

Doesn't help that a ton more coworkers are into watches than bourbon. There's a ton of IWC and similar watches walking around the squadron

I've been eyeing that Hamilton for a while. Think it's pretty sharp

Having kids severely limits your ability to buy the watches you want.

Congrats! I'll have my personal "addicts" update soon...

Tell us about the decision making process that went into you settling on this piece as your first

I wanted something that would go better with my rings (wedding and aggie) better than a silver/stainless watch but there's not really a ton especially in the range I was looking.

Came across Hamilton as a brand then really liked how the minutes are on the outside plus the full day complication was cool.

Yeah that definitely checks.

Trying to sneak a bigger purchase in here soon

Nice. Is that navy and white or black and yellow. Can't tell.

Yeah, I can see the pilots wearing Rolex, BALL and IWC.

As a ground pounder, I'm wearing my Garmin in the field. Garrison.....something nicer.

IWC, Omega and Bremont are probably most common. At least in my squadron

IMO you shouldn't pay anything over retail for a plastic battery powered watch that isn't limited production.

Seconded, and even then retail is a stretch for me. I was in a Swatch store a few weeks ago that had them all on display, and my opinion is that they look better in pictures than in person. Up close you can tell it's a $100 Swatch with a $150 licensing payment to Omega tacked on.

I am about to fly to Istanbul but had a chance to walk through the awesome watch dealers in the duty free area of Dubai airport. Rolexes were predictably absent, but lots of Blancpain, Grand Seiko, Glashutte, and Breguet. My favorite was Bvlgari, their octo series is really growing on me, but I did not pull the trigger on one.

I have to disagree. I think it's a great watch. It looks better in person than in pictures. Too each their own though.

It's a great watch, especially for an Aggie. Congratulations

The Istanbul airport is amazing. I had a 8 hour layover there on my way to Egypt. Get that Turkish Airlines lounge access. They have a Virtual driving range and all sorts of fun stuff.

I am actually flying emirates on the way to Istanbul but will be flying Turkish from Istanbul to Dammam on Sunday and will hang out at the lounge for a few hours. The airport is an absolute zoo but the lounge is awesome . I never been to the virtual driving range but I do like going to the movie theater they have set up like a concert hall with a live concert playing in surround sound in IMAX

Very nice. Say hi to my parents in Saudi for me. They come home next year after 10+ years with Saudi Aramco. They are ready to be back
