I get modified means changed, but how does that work? Rolex parts put into a boutique company designs?

What does that do for value? Is there a market for these? I assume Rolex wants nothing to do with it (repair, warranty, ect.)?

I assume for the same reason you'd modify anything - to have something different from everyone else & unique to your interests.

A buddy of mine bought his wife a black datejust (I think coated by Blaken https://www.blaken.com/en/home ) and it's pretty sweet.

In terms of value, I think that would be a bit subjective but I doubt modification affects the value negatively.

I'm sure there will be people along quickly to say how horrible that its, but this in a sub would be my #1 wish if I could afford it. Ultimate sport watch in my mind.

Edited, because I converted the price wrong. Price is double MSRP of a comparable unmodified Rolex

Everyone should get whatever watch they want.

The biggest drawbacks are:
1. Design/aesthetics change over time and could negatively impact resale value.
2. As I understand it, (a) your warranty with Rolex is voided and (b) you will not be able to service the watch with Rolex.

To me #2 is a bigger deal, since the warranty and ability to send in to Rolex for servicing even after warranty are big selling points in buying Rolex.

FTAC- can you get this watch?

Is it not available at some/all Omega dealers? It would be a huge whiff on their part if the watch isn't available immediately after the movie release.

Houston omega boutique had it 4 months ago and had none two weeks ago. They said that while not a limited edition, the watch should get discontinued after the movie release. Couldn't answer if that's a month or a year but said based on prior experience most likely it will be discontinued sooner than later. It's a cool watch, the vintage look/mesh not my style, the nato for it is even less appealing to me. For whoever buying this, make sure you see it in person first. It's much more vintage like and "brown" in person.

So pretty.

Folks are paying over retail for every SS model. Period.
