That's what makes options great. Because I'd have the exact opposite opinion.

More than zero, less than I'd like.

Count me in the "not a Christopher Ward fan" camp as well. Something about them turns me off...not sure why.

Me too. However, I will say after that post I went and looked again and I like this look for the price. Especially with a Breitling style stainless band.

I've posted it before but I got this for $300. Count me in at that price all day.

Christopher Ward watches remind me too much of the disposable "fashion watches" like MVMT.

Not a fan.

I was trying to figure out what bugged me about them, and you described it well.

For few hundred bucks, they look great, but wouldn't spend over a grand on them.

Also called podcast watches because that is the only place I've ever seen/heard advertisements

Poor Christopher can't catch a break around here. It's a good thing his parents didn't name him Montgomery!

What bothers me most about Christopher ward is that "Christopher Ward" is printed on the dial. It's too much font IMO. Other than that, they look just fine.

And the font bothers me too. I'm not sure why but it looks like it belongs in Word and not on a watch.

I like the idea of gold watches but they just look weird on the wrist. Maybe because the last one I saw was a sub and it looked massive and tacky
Maybe it is tacky and I just can't feel it. But I'd say I wear gold 75% of the time, because I just think it looks better as a compliment to the ring on my right hand than mixing metal tones.

(Disclaimer: I own 0 luxury watches and am just following this thread to try to educate myself.)

Agreed. I have a couple of nice stainless watches, and feel like I may need to go vintage for my next just to get the price point down enough to get a gold bezel, markers and hands to complement my Aggie ring. Maybe nobody cares about mixed metals anymore, but I'm a little self conscious about it.

Week 2 of the wait with my rolex dealer. I've pretty much figured out that if you don't have a lot of money to throw down on ugly jewelry they can't sell to anyone else to boost your spot on their waiting list you need to play the emotional manipulation game with them. I have done so (the TLDR version is my dad cherished his Rolex he won in a sales contest when he was about my age until he sadly passed away only a couple of years later. I want a Rolex to feel more connected to him and next month is the 30th anniversary of his passing) and have strategically visited the store again a couple of times asking some questions to the sales guy so I can lean on him some more.

It's all nonsense but it's a sign of the times. I don't feel like paying a grey market premium so I'm hoping he either finds one or Rolex ships mine in a few weeks instead of a few months.

I wasn't talking about mixed. I want the root beer GMT. I was talking about solid gold. Again, it is just a personal thing. I just couldn't do it, the same way I feel weird wearing all black tennis shoes. Just doesn't look right to my eye.

I know you don't want to do gray market, but these days you spend more money buying other garbage you don't want rather than just paying market price premiums.

If you decide you want to explore gray market hit me up I can get you a brand new one most likely in the timeframe you need as well.

Also to add the premium on the solid rose gmt is really not that much over what you pay at Rolex with tax

DJs are a bit easier to come by, I don't think they're quantity-restricted like GMTs/Subs/Daytonas, where you're on waiting lists no matter what.

The guy made my order with no deposit and said when it comes in I'll have first right of refusal but if I don't like it he can put it in the case or call another customer and have it sold in a few hours.

This is the exact configuration I ordered (just couldn't stomach the extra 2 grand for the fluted bezel):

I did tell my guy that if anything else came up I'd take a look, my second choice being the Wimbledon dial:

He said the best thing to do is wait on my order because of the other customers who are also looking. Who knows but we'll see I guess.

Mostly they want you to buy high margin stuff like diamonds.

Spending 10 grand on a tennis bracelet for the wife makes them very happy.

Have a friend that found a Batman under glass at an AD a few years back. Apparently original buyer had finances fall through for one reason or another and my friend happened to be standing there when it went down.

I quit spending money on big-time jewelry for the wife a while ago. She just doesn't wear it.

99% of the stuff she wears beyond her engagement ring and wedding band seems to be Kendra Scott-type stuff. Other than her diamond studs she doesn't wear any of her fancy, expensive ***** It just stays locked up. She has a Cartier watch I bought her several years ago that she wears maybe twice a year- it's really not all that special, I bought it more on name before I knew better. Otherwise, when she does wear a watch it's her Apple watch. And when I mentioned selling some of it she looked at me like I was crazy.

Freaking women.

Same here.

But me paying for my wife's jewelry is one of the big reasons Kendra Scott is worth a half-billion dollars.

Not sure how much they go for but saw this Cartier today for 5 grand tax free. Pre-owned. Had some retro date justs too but I thibk they were overpriced. Be happy to get it if someone was interested. My guess is overpriced though.

I've had a few people ask me about the new moonwatch and if I can get it at a discount. I was able to acquire one, and willing to pass on the deal if anyone is interested for $5670 (10% off) and it's new.. never worn. Msrp is 6300 plus tax.

Dm me if you want. I will be wholesaling it next week at this price if no interest.

I also have a new Tudor gmt at a wholesale price of $3500. Retail on these are $4050 plus tax at the store.

Are you wearing a lime green shirt when you took those photos? The watches have a green hue to them.
