Been really digging this one as well. Has caught my eye and I keep coming back to it.....simple and classy and in a 46 diameter (anything <43mm just looks too small on my wrist). I think that blue rubber strap is growing on me as well. Shopping around, it looks like it can be had for just above 3 brand new....

It's a great watch; I think you can get it on the grey market for the high 2's brand new.

Yea, I see one out there for just under 2.7. I definitely want to go by an AD and try one on just to verify the look on my wrist, but love the pics. I'm like you, in that my wrists are ~7.65 and the 40 mm subs look a bit small on me when I tried them on. So that 2 tone sub that I posted earlier is probably off the list in favor of this guy (lightly used)....

This is my problem. Most watches look tiny on my wrists and why the 45mm Tag Heuer I posted above is high on my list.

This is my knock-around watch, a Luminox Navy Seal 3050 which is a 44mm. Anything smaller doesn't look right IMHO. But most of the stuff that is much bigger looks like I'm trying to be some dewshbag rapper or something.

That Breitling looks nice but it's too close to the Seasmaster IMHO. They even use a similar font.

Breitling to me is pilot watches.

I got a Buech Boilat a few years back and always get compliments on it. Always thought it looks more expensive than it was. (and I know its a sh***y quartz.)

It has nothing to do with the utility of the watch. It just seems silly to spend that kind of dough on a replica.

Yea, I certainly would have to agree to disagree on it being a "replica." When I think replica, I think of something being made in China in a factory, not a brand new Breitling. Even with as similar as it is to the Omega. Now if I were buying a Seiko that looked like that, then I'd agree with you.

Maybe the face, but certainly not the bezel. Either way.....personal preference right? I prefer Breitlings over Omegas anyhow, and they're both high quality watchmakers. So I'd prefer dropping 3k vs 5k+

Omega model came out first. The date window on the Breitling is quite a bit different as well. Bezel is way different.

How long has Breitling had that design? What about Omega?

Here's a Seamasters from the time of of the Ike Administration.



Kind of the same look for 50-60 years.

So that would be after the Seamasters of the 50s, correct?

Omega is credited with the first commercial dive watch in the 1930s.
