Longines is probably my favorite brand out there right now, even though I have only one piece from them. I think they're at the pinnacle of the value pyramid even ahead of Tudor.

I just picked up the Zulu "bruce wayne" GMT. Absolutely gorgeous watch with great specs for not a lot of $$$

Longines may be on par if not ahead of TAG, but I don't think they come close to being the same caliber watch as what Tudor produces.

I don't think they're the same caliber either, but they're close enough in quality and pretty distant in price, so for me at least the Zulu has a better value proposition

The Zulu I posted above is 70% of the price of the Tudor Pepsi GMT.

The Zulu has a 2 hour power reserve advantage (72 vs 70)

Both are Chronometers, and both have muddled enough movement manufacturing that they're both close enough to "in-house"

The Zulu has a ceramic bezel where the Tudor has an aluminum (I prefer ceramic due to the shine)

I think the Tudor finishing and bracelet is likely better, but not 40% of the price of the Zulu better.

I have a couple of Tudors and have been close to pulling the trigger on a zulu after seeing them in person several times. I'd agree here. I still prefer Tudor as a brand, but Longines on the higher end of their portfolio has some incredible value.

I wonder if Tudor would offer a discount if you'd purchase a watch but without the side order of insecurity.

All fair points. I think when you look at Tudor having METAS certified watches and their ability to use movements like the B01 from Breitling in their Chrono line up, it justifies the premium.

Hah I didn't even notice! It's an old Skagen from when I was a kid I can't get rid of even though it's too small and I can't find any links. I have fixed the orientation!

We ran into some major snags so I'm still sporting the batgirl for maybe another week or so. Least that's the hope!

Thank you.

I, too, am probably on the spectrum.

Reminds me of an observation I heard a while back. Can't remember if it was a comedian, social media, or from something else.

"The existence of Silly Putty implies that there is also a Serious Putty."

"Yeah, it's called C4."

The correct way to set the GMT hand is a closely guarded secret. The order of the cruciform GMT has, since antiquity closely guarded that secret. Tell me, do you seek the correct way to set your GMT hand for its glory, or for your own?

Nice watch.

They did it for you. Set the hand to GMT time. Utilize the bezel to and the GMT+- system to get to whatever second time zone you want to see. Hour hand is for the local time.

Or for a much cleaner aesthetic you simply set the second hour hand to the time zone you wish to keep track of and your bezel can maintain its pleasing orientation.

Yep, thanks guys. Was already familiar, so mainly wanted to add fuel to the GMT hand exchange a few pages back.

Meh. You can but the point of the GMT hand is to start hour diff tracking at zero and being able to do simple and quick positive and negative clicks to the desirable zone. GMT is accepted as the universal base of timekeeping

But yeah the answer is do whatever you want. It's just my opinion. I paid a bunch of money for my GMT. The person who paid 5 figures for their watch should have final say on their watch, Texags.

95% of the time I don't pay attention to it at all anymore because I am no longer a world traveler like I was when I bought the watch. To be clear I am not advocating for any position on the matter.

The watch is and will always be a symbol of personal accomplishment and I chose it over the sub I purchased because I like it more and it was more applicable to my life at the time.

DAMN! This in blue is a grail watch for me.

How did you source this? Boutique? Grey Market?

FTAco07
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Boutique. They opened a boutique in Dallas and I was invited to a pre-opening party and requested it the next day. Only had to wait 3 or 4 months but I think I benefited from VC wanting to get product pushed through the new store.

We are 15 years in to the humble brag bit… and so many people still don't really understand the concept.

That wasn't even close to my most un-humble brag in this thread over the years.
