I thought it was pretty good. Maybe a few I would jump up or down a category personally but overall I think its well done.
If I'm not mistaken, before they brought it in house, Rolex used to buy movements from Zenith.BoDog said:
Good to see Zenith getting some love although not sure I would put Brietling in their company.

they should have broken the "fashion" brands like LV, Ralph Lauren, Dior etc. into a different category (or out altogether).
None of those brands are known for watch making and I would hazard a guess they're all farming out watches to 3rd parties.
Yeah, which is fine with me. Standards over clout anyway for me.AgLA06 said:Diggity said:

Agree. I think this has more to do with cost / prestige than watch standards.
Correct. Rolex sourced their movement for the Daytona for years....SPF250 said:If I'm not mistaken, before they brought it in house, Rolex used to buy movements from Zenith.BoDog said:

Does anyone have a rec for someone to do a polish on a watch? There is a watch on Chrono24 that I'm close to pulling the trigger on, but the bracelet is pretty beat up.

Congrats. I'm jealous.
I have an RGM 222 with a caliber 923 movement, which is a recased Hamilton pocket watch. Roland Murphy was a Hamilton guy.
And what was the deciding factor between the 801-CE and the 801-E ?

Do you have other watches you wear right now? Are you envisioning this watch to be a "one-watch-collection"? Or the start of a watch collecting journey?

FTAC2011. How do I message you? I think I follow you on ig.
This would be my 3rd watch, the other two being a dark blue quartz seiko chrono which my wife got me before we got married and I will never part with and a Hamilton Khaki Diver in blue which I would probably sell if I got one of the other divers.
I think this is the start of the next level of a "collection". The green is so much more subtle in person. I was dressed super casual trying it on and it was just an amazingly unique color that didn't feel ostentatious. And the size at 43 felt perfect after trying on the 41. The bezel complication makes it wear much smaller.
As for resale or trading. That is why I wanted to go grey or used since if I want to upgrade or trade out with something similar the loss would be minimized.
