I love that watch as well! But, I gotta admit, I'd buy the rose gold one and not even care

The new Rolex Deepsea Challenge is rated at 11K meters. It's $26,000, which is only 72 cents per foot of water resistance!

I've got your original gas escape valve right here, pal! [points at butt]

Yeah it's weird. There's a dangerous viral spore on the loose in Austin and there are demons wandering around the streets seeking the ruin of souls and buildings are collapsing, I had a hard time telling the difference to be honest.

That gives me 24 cents...

The worst part about diving to 33,000 feet is the wrinkles the wetsuit puts in my tuxedo (dive watch outfit).

That was my first reaction. Part of me is jealous of the guy who wears a five figure watch to do whatever the hell the last owner was doing while wearing to make it look like that.

It drives my wife crazy that most of the time they sit in the closet. If I am doing any activity with a hint of exertion or sweat, I will have my Seiko dive watch on.

I wear my gmt to do EVERYTHING. I was busting up tile with it on the other day because I always forget to take it off.

I guess I'm the opposite. My rings and watch come off as soon as I get home.

The only time my watch comes off is to shower, swim or boat.

I disagree. I've got three Rolexes that I interchange ballpark monthly, and wear every single one nonstop regardless of the activity.

Theses watches were made to be worn. My grandfather still has a presidential he bought in the 70s and he's worn it constantly and it still looks good.

It's just surface scratches. $250 and it looks brand new with a professional polish.

I may go get it done anyway just wanted to throw it out there before hand

No, I totally get it.

My OCD kicks in and I break out into a cold sweat when I see a beat up Rolex. I somehow put a very very minor ding into the crystal of my Hulk and I lost sleep and went into a weird depressed state for over a week. Spent several waking days trying to figure out how the hell that could have happened. You really have to bang the hell out of it to do what I did. I will never sell it so I guess I shouldn't worry too much about it. I'll let one of my bratty kids have it one day....

One day I took my SMP300m off at night and was horrified to find that the clasp was scratched to hell. It looked like someone took it and just started rubbing the clasp back and forth on the concrete. To this day I have no idea how that happened. (Fortunately Omega replaced it with a brand new clasp for free when it went in for a separate internal clasp micro adjustment issue - which btw, they are now using a new system on their microadjustments)

To respond to an above post - I wear a watch unless it's time for bed and I never take my ring off. (My ring is 6 years old and was originally antiqued but now it looks pure gold because I've worn all the antiquing off.) I'm fine with the ring not looking brand new, but I have become super left wrist conscious. I'm sure there's certain situations where I look ridiculous, holding my left arm awkwardly out in the air or hovering above counters/surfaces when doing certain tasks.

I think the wrist consciousness is starting to evolve into subconsciousness, and it must be working. The first two sports watches I got I had scratched up way more than they should have taken in the first few months. Here lately I seem to have gotten a lot better with it. Also helps to buy used. One scratch on a new watch is infinitesimally more than it had before - one scratch on a used watch is typically a small fraction and usually can't see from a few feet away.

One reason that I like a leather strap. No worries about bracelet or clasp scratches. Also, I like the weight and comfort of the leather for everyday

I cant imagine getting upset about scratches on the clasp of a watch. Its basiy a wear part imo.

Wow. While I support the "FU" aspect of that, that price is shocking, at least to me.

I would be careful. Impact is one of the things that can really screw up an automatic watch. I take mine off when I go to the range also.

I get that but its worth around $22-24k so I get a little gun shy...

I have only had to service one watch in my entire life, and it was my Rolex Explorer II that I wore while golfing. I had been told there was no problem with wearing a watch while golfing but the impact of the club hitting the ball had to mess it up.

It could have been coincidence, but I don't wear it to golf anymore

I just got my Monaco serviced last year and it took forever and when it came back it just wasn't running right but I struggled to send it back because the last service had taken like 5+ months. Finally I caved and called up the service center and they said it would be covered under service warranty. Turns out, it hadn't been serviced real well and it was magnetized which is why it wasn't keeping time. And I had the watch back in less than 2 weeks. I was a little perturbed that I had to go through it but I liked the reconciliation.

It does show the insanity of our hobby though.

"Dude that's the most beautiful Apple Watch I've seen"

-oh thanks, but it's a Moser, it's just made to look like an Apple Watch

"Wow that's awesome, it looks expensive

-yeah it was over $30k

"I can't imagine what awesome features it has. This one checks email, reads my heart rate, and plays music at $300, so that one must have a ton more

-oh it doesn't do any of that, but it does have this cool circle thing that looks like it's updating.

"…….oh"
