Anyone have the hookup on some cookoff tent passes? I need to buy some (probably 25-30) for clients this year. Preferably one of the larger tents with entertainment/booze/food etc.

i normally would, but i'm not cooking this year.

you gotta be a baller to pass up those general admission lines.

most people are not ballers at multiple tents. you usually have one that is your main solid.

of course everyone on this board is clearly in a different league and not only can skip any line at any tent, they also probably own the rodeo.

Just messing around. I usually stick to my buddies tent at night.

During the day you can do a lot more hopping around.

I just wear my bright orange bbq committee smock and no one stops me.

I have two that I bounce back and forth between. Anything more than that seems like it would be a pain in the ass.

what kind of commitments are involved with it other than the obvious bbq weekend stuff

I enjoy it.

The only time commitment is the day before cookoff (all day) and the 3 days of the actual cookoff.

I have to work the gates one day this year and in not happy

thats not bad at all. i have another friend on the directions one and they have to work 4 rodeos

which gate?...we may be the beer stand right next to you.

cole- what is your budget? We have sponsorship available in the $5k range.

I usually tent hop with Nee Nee. The colder it is, the less likely I am to leave the main tent though.

What's it cost to put together a good tent?

SEASON PASS: $25 per pass

A Reliant Park Season Pass allows entrance to the World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest and the Show, including the carnival, Reliant Arena for horse show events, and Reliant Center for Capital One Bank AGVENTURE, livestock show, shopping and food exhibits. Entrance into Reliant Stadium or Rodeo Uncorked! events is not included. Children age 2 and under are free and do not require a ticket. A Season Pass is not valid for rides or games.

World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest tickets can be purchased at the entrance gates during the contest, Feb. 24 - 26, 2011. A ticket also includes entrance into the carnival during the contest, and a barbecue plate. A World's Championship Bar-B-Que Ticket does not include entrance into the Show during March 1 – 20, 2011.

So tamulax33, Basically what you're saying is if you plan to hit BBQ Cookoff all 3 nights you'd be better off buying a season pass for $25?

yes.. that is the smart way to do it.

The tix gets you admission into the gates. Just about all of the tents are private and you will not have access to any of them without wristbands.. for those that have never been.

exactly. wristbands get you access to tents (that is where the fun is at)... but you need admission tickets (or a season pass or badge(s)) to get in.

Or if you are on a committee you just bring your badge and you and a guest get in for free.

Chip- It depends on the size and what you mean by decent. Its all relative.

my team has sponserships as low as $500 that gets you 2 badges and 8 wristbands. wristbands are for friday and saturday only badges is for all 3 nights.

As for price we will spend over $100,000 for cookoff this year....

they are just VIP badges to the tent. Badges at his tent get you in to the VIP party on Thursday night and guarantee you entry through he side VIP entrance on Friday and Saturday while the folks with wristbands are stuck in line doing the one in one out routine.
