Yeah, no idea. I haven't listened to the actual ticket in probably over a decade and haven't even listened to ticket podcasts in 3-4 years. This thread is my only connection to the ticket anymore.

If it was a big playoff game or championship game I think that would shift to this list:

1. Packers
2. Super Bowl

Stars and Bucks might be flip-flopped, but I like to think one DFW team at least rubbed off on him to think he'd watch a Game 7 Stars over a Game 7 Bucks.

Jub got emotional and almost cried a couple times, but it's hard to find fault in his sentiment. Only thing I'd say is that the silent majority of people are going on with their lives without getting bogged down in politics/social media/arguing (I hope). Things aren't quite as doom and gloom as he made them out to be. Still, good stuff.

That's the issue with social media. If that's your outlet to the world, it looks pretty ****ty, which, generally, is not the case.

Seriously...what percentage of Twitter is just bots?

Maybe we should just have an anti-purge where the government outlaws all kinds of social media for 1 month of the year. Gives everyone a chance to reset their reality and focus on life outside the screens.

There's NO doubt about this. COVID isolated us even more because people couldn't get out. People just swirled around in isolation consuming media and social media creating negative emotion.

Social media has also eliminated people's historical context because it's either too short or people just create their own history. I think that might be the more dangerous part. Not learning from history or just creating your history isn't helpful.

I really feel the playbook for all of this can be learned from the Spanish Flu but I don't think we can all agree on that right now.

Well most of my interactions for the last 18 months with any humans are through full PPE in an ICU with someone who is dying. I haven't had any quality of life with my family in that entire time. And now all the hospitals are full up again.

I don't know where the **** you work, but you should come visit mine for a day.

A. Then how does combining the two conferences make sense? It's just a bigger group of teams with little interest nationally.

B. If you're negotiating with a conference, and desperately need them to give you a life-line...probably not a good idea to insult them.

Yeah, the valuable asset of collegiate sports, football, is dying in the PAC. It's why they went from being sip's top choice 10 years ago to sip scrambling for ACC or SEC. The bdf T8nt and the PAC would be destined to fail. The PAC can't afford to slice up more pie pieces for what little the T8nt bring, and the lifeline to the T8nt would only be temporary if they did.

In the end, it would be a mass of mostly unattractive football assets

USC, UCLA, Oregon, and UW should be knocking on the B1G door begging for admittance. Maybe Stanford and Arizona too.

Otherwise they die on the vine.

And I get the B1G places 'emphasis' on academics. So just take USC and UCLA, Iowa State and Kansas.

I think this is going on with the "schedule alliance" talk and it's being driven by television. I think it's the precursor to a Big 8/SWC style merger where some teams get left out. 4 P12 teams will join the B10 and maybe Notre Dame.

I also think the ACC is secretly under attack by the SEC. I know the grant of rights thing is huge but if ESPN can dissolve the B12 then the ACC is next. The SEC will just nitpick the other two schools beyond Clemson and FSU. I would think UNC and maybe Notre Dame if they don't want to join the B10.

I think in the next 5 years you're gonna have 2 super conferences with the Big 10 and SEC.

As someone whose wife brought the white noise machine into the house, I can confirm that it's borderline hypnotic/addictive.

The white noise machines can be a bit electronic sounding. We went with the marpac and can not recommend it enough.
