Thank god I'm in Collin county, and outside the city limits at that.

The mask mandate is about reducing the transmission of the virus and mask use to prevent the spread of the virus is backed by "science". I think the mask mandates in blue areas are because these areas typically have higher populations. Dallas does not have the resources to manage a large outbreak if one should occur.
That is not why. The big cities in TX have ample hospital capacity. The more rural counties have far less hospital capacity and would be more at risk. The science is not clear on masks especially cloth masks. Plus people don't wear them properly and constantly touch them which can cause them to infect themselves.
So, since the science is not clear, and it's possible they might help, and they definitely do not hurt anything, why not wear one?
Because there is not enough evidence that they help materially. They are also hot and uncomfortable and would increase my chances of getting virus particles on my hands by constantly adjusting my mask and touching my face. I choose to wash my hands instead. They also promote fear in a lot of people including my children.
If wearing an "uncomfortable" mask (boohoo) helps keep the economy open, that seems like reason enough to me, not to mention the possibility of saving lives. Granted probably not your life, so you probably don't care. When (if) we see spikes in numbers again (which we already are) and the state shuts down again, will you promise to not ***** about it, since you couldn't be bothered to wear a mask? I'm guessing not.

What libs don't want you to know is that wearing a mask increases the carbon dioxide you're breathing which can lead to other problems. And if you have a small amount of the virus in you, when you breathe in the mask and then keep breathing then you increase the amount of virus you've got. Grow a brain. I won't wear one and neither should anyone else, they DON'T WORK and they are actually BAD FOR YOU.
Did you see the video of the women in Florida at the city council meeting? This person is not alone in their line of thinking....Duncan Idaho said:City Dumme said:

Honest question...is this a troll/sarcastic post?

Florida reported nearly 9,000 new cases today, nearly double its previous high from last week, so I'd say they are doing their darndest to catch up

Finally, wearing a mask doesn't hurt you, you ****ing morons. Even if you're so stupid as to believe it doesn't work, trust the adults and put it on. Sorry for your minor inconvenience.

What's the reason for not wanting to wear a mask? It's uncomfortable? You think you look silly? You don't like being told what to do?
Sack up and get over it.

I'm going to give into the tyranny and wear a mask since I all but have to living inside of Dallas. However, I'm going to avoid all situations that require it. I spent most of yesterday having to wear one for the first time more than a few minutes at a time and it was awful.
I don't understand the reference, but I do like fajitas.True Anomaly said:Can your wife only eat fajitas with shredded cheese as well?YouBet said:

You should come work in the medical field. Our masks are so much more comfortable. That's why you never hear us complain.YouBet said:

Looks like Plano meeting tonight to discuss. Guessing if McKinney did Plano might too....
edit: I am not anti-mask but I wish businesses could make decisions vs government overreach. I would think most businesses would choose to require with strong encouragement from local and state leadership. Maybe i am ignorant....

Good for them
The spread isn't exactly out of control in Colin county and they've been "anti mask" this whole time
It's almost as if focusing efforts on shaming such people is a big waste of time, and a disservice to communities that are actually being hit hard by this
