Brutal wind damage in my 'hood in N. Dallas. We're at Hillcrest and Beltline...trees down all over my street. Luckily, we escaped with just some downed oak branches. One smacked the side of our house pretty good, but it looks like superficial damage to the brick.

What happened?

-No recognition of how bad the storm was
-"No kids allowed inside" during the early part
-Mass confusion when everyone ordered inside
-Moved people out of biggest room because the floors had just been redone
-Very limited emergency lights. I'd assume well under code.
-Multiple locked exit doors (my single biggest issue)

Granted, it was EXTREMELY busy today, but had that storm produced a twister, etc., it could have been really bad.

Crane collapse downtown ripped right through an apartment building and parking lot collapse. Sounds like there are fatalities.

Was this a tornado? I'm out handling damage at a couple of properties and haven't been tuned into the news. Not sure what's being said about it but this was bad. I'll post pictures later on this thread but I have trouble that a thunderstorm did all this

I was driving down Ross to go to Richardson since my power was out. Was wondering why the road was shut down near good latimer with dozens of emergency vehicles, went around the back to get to 75 and saw it smashed into the side of the complex. One of the craziest things I've ever seen

It was not a tornado, just very high winds and rain, I saw something about hail in some areas. Branches and trees down everywhere

If you go to their outage maps its all over North Texas and widespread all over the Metroplex.. I clicked on the outage near me and than various others and the all now say 1100am tomorrow after saying 6pm tonight previously.

Power out in large swaths.
Friends have trees down all over. Through roofs, on cars, blocking streets.
Neighbors had 1-2ft of flash flood water in their houses.
Saw nickel to quarter hail at my house.

All in the middle of me doing a ****ing brake job.

I just walked down lowest Greenville and nothing south of HG Supply had power then from HG and north the east side of the street had power but the west side didn't. In true fashion, Old Crow didn't let that stop them from being open and selling drinks in the hot steamy darkness.

Lots of trees down with a few side streets blocked.

Power is out between Belt Line and Royal. We drove around quite a bit trying to find food. That small areas seems to have been ground zero in north Dallas.

My Spectrum internet had been out since the storm and cell is hit or miss. I can browse Texags, twitter, etc. but sending and receiving texts and pictures is spotty. I'm east of downtown and on AT&T

Yep...never seen so many trees uprooted. It's like a damn bomb went off in our neighborhood. Spent a couple hours clearing off limbs and branches from the front. Haven't even touched the back yet...it's a total mess.
