I woke up last night at 3 am and looked at weather underground.... 40% chance of rain. Wake up again at 5 to the sound of thunder.... 100% chance of rain. lol.

Yeah, we lost power here in Rowlett about 6 hours ago. Made sleeping difficult without fans. It's too damn hot.
Hope power comes back soon.

You're on the leading edge of a lake and most storm systems come north to south or northwest to South East. All that added water just means that you will get the brunt of a storm that goes over a sudden temperature and humidity shift.

Small roof leak. Many others had similar issues. Lots of water that fast is a bear.

We found a water spot on the ceiling in a corner bathroom after last weekend's rain.

Didn't see any obvious water marks in attic and gutter was clogged nearby so I'm hoping that's all it was. Couldn't tell if spot got bigger last night or not. Will take pics and compare after this coming weekend, I guess.

Rain was coming sideways at times also, which can get up into gaps that aren't usually an issue with a typical rainstorm.

I missed it at work but it looked like a doozie.

But my builder was working on another house and lost a **** ton of hardwood.

Lightning on the way in from Houston was insane. If any photographers were out tonight getting good shots, they stand to make some good money. Some of the stuff I saw was NatGeo worthy.
