Round 1 of thunderstorms during the late afternoon/early evening with the warm front (and within the warm sector). Thunderstorms will move south/southwest to north/northeast across the area and may become severe.
Round 2 of thunderstorms will approach from the west during the late evening and into the metroplex after midnight. Rainfall rates may exceed 2 inches per hour, with localized flash flooding possible (especially over the northwestern counties). The thunderstorms will move through D/FW as a quasi-linear convective system with strong outflow winds possibly exceeding 60 mph. Damaging winds may occur with this QLCS, especially within bowing segments. The chance of rain with Round 2 is near 100% (DFW between midnight and 5 am Wed).
All severe elements appear possible over the course of this event, with Round 2 being primarily damaging straight-line wind and very heavy rain.
